...NEW WAVE Cool Water “Wave” is the latest release from Davidoff’s Cool Water family of fragrances. It comes in an elegant glass bottle about seven inches high, shaped like an elongated water drop, with a blue cylindrical stopper and a silver coloured collar. The bottle is in graded shades of blue, starting with a rich azure at the top, fading to pale aqua at the bottom, where the name of the perfume is printed onto the glass. This is a fresh and invigorating eau de toilette, aimed at women, and is described as “modern and feminine”. Advantages: Hard hitting, fast, fun, and loud music.

...Picture Sonic Youth and early Nirvana. Forget that. How about Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde sings lead for a hybrid form of Henry Rollins' Black Flag. Ah, never mind. I can't figure it out. I know it screams though! I am talking about an old face and a new band. The face is that of Kristin Hersh. The band is 50 Foot Wave. And you better prepare yourself for the flood! In 2003 with the flowers wilted on the grave of what was once Throwing Muses and Kristin Hersh's solo career on a temporary hold after the release of the Grotto Hersh sets off on a new course. Advantages: Caters for a wide age range and plays music to suit most tastes
Disadvantages: You have to live on the South Coast to enjoy Wave

Regular features on Wave include interviews with special guests, News reports on the hour every hour and regular updates throughout the hour, weather forecasts, travel updates and a What's On Guide. Wave 105.2FM regularly runs competitions and was recently running a competition to win a trip to Las Vegas, which I got through to the final on. At the final about 100 finalists were invited to the Bournemouth IMAX to participate in a multiple choice quiz, answering questions about Las Vegas and its' attractions - I didn't win but it was a great morning out. The competition was broadcast live on the radio and there were two new bands playing live at the IMAX - the bands were Reel, an all male Irish group and Bellfire an all female group - Bellfire were particularly good...
