Review of Safeway Bibs by
ibirkmyre
Advantages: no velcro
Disadvantages: no waterproof backing
...These are the best bibs I have ever used. Not me personally. My little sister (2 years old). She used to get the velcro fasening bibs but the velcro allways used to get worn very quickly so they used to fall off and have to be replaced regulaly. These bibs, however, have to be put on over your head. No fastener means no wearing out of velcro. There is one trouble with these bibs though. They haven't got a plastic backing so if you spill liquid on it, it soaks through....

Looking for a more funky baby bib?
Review of Silly Billyz Bibs by
Peardrop26
Advantages: Stylish, quick to dry, something different
Disadvantages: More expensive than other bibs
...A friend tipped me off about these bibs when I was complaining that I couldn't find *anything* without Winnie-the-Pooh prints and other babyish styles for my 5 month old daughter.
They are of course only baby bibs but as a style conscious Mum (or so I like to think!!) I wanted a bib that was good enough to show off when out and about.
The bib is basically made of fleece with a nylon backing. It also fastens with a snap press rather than velcro making it difficult for my daughter to remove now she is older.
What makes these bibs different in my opinion is the choice of colours - they are not the usual insipid baby combinations of lemon and mint. I've only got 3 but they really are all I've used for the past 7 months on my daughter - they are so quick to dry as they are made of fleece.
I got mine from www.whoops-a-daisy.co.uk but I...

No messing with Roll'n'Go
Review of Tommee Tippee Roll 'n' Go Bib by
JoJammy
Advantages: Ideal for traveling, wipes clean
Disadvantages: Size of the neck fastening
...there thank you! I also do have other things to do sometimes when lunchtime is upon us. I love it when I can sit the boys down, give them their dinner and get on with something really exciting like, er … washing up! OK .. maybe I don’t have a life after all!!
- Only give them foods which do not stain, mark, fall from the spoon, or smell! Nope .. this one is just impossible … and reminds me of that advert where the mum complains why bibs are white when the food isn’t …(a good one … seen it?!)
- Make sure that they have a good bib at mealtimes
Lets go with the third suggestion …by far the most sensible .. and after all this op is about a bib!
I couldn’t cope without bibs … well … my washing machine couldn’t! I have stacks of bibs all over the place, in the kitchen...

Porridge from head to toe - a solution?
Review of Babies 'R'Us Bibs by
gef18
Advantages: easy to put on, take off, wash and dry
Disadvantages: milk can soak through and do not cover as much area as needed
...Soon after I started weaning my son, at 5 months old, I realised that I was going to need much larger bibs than the newborn ones that I had been using. He can cover himself in food from head to toe (no exaggeration). Having two older children, I had a good idea what kind of bib I wanted. I looked in supermarkets and Mothercare, but wasn't happy with the choices. I finally found what I was looking for at Babies 'R' Us.
I bought a pack of 7 bibs in a safari animal design - giraffe, lion, tiger, elephant. They are all white with a pale blue edging. Four of the bibs have a picture of a single animal on the front; the other three have all the animals scattered over them.
All of the bibs have a velcro fastening behind the neck. I love this style of bib, rather than bibs you need to tie, because I find it very difficult to tie bibs...

Babies 'R' Us Well thought out bibs
Review of Babies 'R'Us Bibs by
Alexmouse
Advantages: Attach with velcro, plastic backed with plain terry front
Disadvantages: They do stain after a while and if you hot wash them too much the plastic wears out
...These are the most fantastic bibs I have ever come across. If you have a very sickly child then you will understand the difficulty of finding a decent bib. The double terry ones aren’t really any good because the dribble and sick just seeps through and makes their clothes all wet. The cotton ones certainly aren’t any good because it just runs straight off them and the terry bibs with large pictures on are just the same as the drool just runs straight over the picture and onto clothes or the floor.
These bibs have really been thought out properly. They are attached by Velcro (I’m sure you all know that ties are just a real pain!) and are plain terry on the front with a plastic backing. Therefore absorbing the nastiness but not seeping through onto clothes. They are also a good size and OK they do take longer to dry than double...

The Mother Of All Bibs
Review of Tommee Tippee Milk Feeding Bib by
keaniebean24
Advantages: Quite a few for such a simple product.
Disadvantages: Expensive
...Now you wouldnt really expect that there was that much to say about what is after all just a bib, but when I actually sat down and thought about it I came up with quite a lot.
Most new babies are really messy when it comes to feeding and as most parents will know, in one end, out the other and covered in it in between seems to be all that new babies are about. For any non-parent who may be reading this dont worry as this stage doesnt usually last too long. Well just long enough for you to have become mildly addicted to some substance, whether it be food, caffine or alcohol is up to you!
Tommee Tippee has taken a really simple idea ie. putting a sponge around the neck of the bib, and made it into something that is actually worthwhile having despite the pricetag The sponge soaks up all the dribbles that inevitably run down usually...

It's Rubbery!
Review of Tommee Tippee Roll 'n' Go Bib by
lipsalve
Advantages: The 'catch it all' bib which is easy to clean.
Disadvantages: Runny food can seep underneath.
...I have a vast collection of babies and toddlers bibs, but the ones I am using most at the moment are the Tommee Tippee Roll 'n' Go. Incidentally, I am using them for my toddlers, not myself! The main reason is ease of cleaning because I got fed up of putting cloth bibs into the washing machine all the time.
Tommee Tippee Roll 'n' Go Bibs are a rubber textured bib with a scoop to catch spillages. They have 4 holes on the neck for adjustment. They are designed for children from 4 months upwards. They will even fit around my neck on the smallest adjustment! There are soft rubber dimples on the back which is meant for comfort.
Price
--------
I purchased mine from Tesco for £2.97 each. We now have a jolly collection of a red one, a purple one and a blue one! They are very good value as they do not seem to wear out and are used...

No more cheesey necks!!
Review of Tommee Tippee Milk Feeding Bib by
candylamour
Advantages: No more cheesey necks
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...***At last a cure for cheesey necks***
As a dad of twins I have become very hands-on with regards the care for Arabella and her brother Kaiden. Arabella is a good little girl and takes her bottle with no problems. Kaiden, on the other hand, is the feeder from hell!! Every day he gets through at least twice as many outfits as Bella as he has a tendency to bring his food up seemingly at will!! A common sound in our flat is "QUICK GET A MUSLIN!!"...followed by..."TOO LATE!!". Whilst feeding Kaiden it is essential for him to wear a bib, however, the bibs he has been wearing of late don't stop milk trickling down his chin, and then down into the creases in his neck. By the end of the day my little boy has started to smell distinctly cheesey and a quick look in these creases shows an accumulation of smelly milk deposits. Of course...

Best of the bibs!
Review of Boots Bibs by
smillar
Advantages: Dry, safe and washable
Disadvantages: Too big for newborns
...You are probably thinking what can I possibly say about bibs?! Quite a lot actually! I've tried them all; tie neck, Velcro, soft cotton, pull over head, plastic back, long sleeve and catch-all plastic bibs, and found that the best combination is plastic back with Velcro fasteners.
The best buy are Boots own 3 pack for £5.00 (sounds expensive but they are well worth it). They are cotton fronted with plastic backing and Velcro fastening (easy to do up and undo with one hand), they boil wash and tumble dry extremely well (I found that cheaper bibs crinkled and split in the tumble dryer). They are very plain but they are practical and last a long time (I am using the same ones now for my 4 month old daughter that I used for my son now 3 years old!)
They are quite big on your newborn, but babies grow so quickly and when they start teething...

The best type of bib
Review of Babies 'R'Us Bibs by
saramch
Advantages: save so much hassle
Disadvantages: pricey
...I hate the idea of tying a bib to my baby's neck with string. She'd just need to wriggle and I might catch her skin or half-throttle her.
Which is where these come in.
Toys-r-us sell 2 different designs at the same price - three quid each. One has a giraffe on and is towelling all over. This is the best one, as it's more flexible and nice and bright.
They cost as much as seven normal bibs, but I was given the normal kind when Áine was born and they're just gathering dust.
These are so much better. They keep all but your baby's hands and face covered, and don't seem at all restrictive. With normal bibs you have to keep moving them around to catch the mess, but these catch just about everything. They fasten with velcro tabs at the back.
You'll only need need 8 or so of these instead of countless tie-on ones, and they go...
