Hello Rockview! This Is Awesome!
Review of Hello Rockview - Less Than Jake by
jglassey
Advantages: Quirky, catchy and fun!
Disadvantages: Over too soon.
...The sextet's fifth album is punk rock at it's absolute best. Upbeat and pleasing, every song wonderfully catchy. Most definitely the record to play all summer long, outdoors in the sun with a barbeque and some beer. The highlights of this album are the amazingly tuneful "All My Best Friends Are Metalheads" and "History of a Boring Town". Less Than Jake's Bosstones influenced style brings trumpets galore, and is sure to bring a smile to the face of even the most sullen man. The album is fast-paced, frenzyful, and guaranteed to get everyone moving about. You'll bring away nothing but a great feeling!...

Amazing Nokia, yet again
Review of Nokia 6110 by
Paz21
Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: Nothing
...The Nokia 6110 is everything you want in a cellular phone, plus a few extras you didn't expect. It is ideal in weight and feels solid and comfortable in your hand. And it has the large display you expect in a Nokia phone. It stands by longer than any other handportable phone -up to 270 hours with the Standard Battery. It provides superior audio quality - and superior visual quality on the five-line, dynamic, full-graphics display. It adapts easily to different situations such as meetings, outdoors, and family life - and it brings you a lot of fun. Quite simply, the Nokia 6110 is the perfect package. It's like having a personal assistant wherever you go. There's a calendar and an alarm clock. You can write your appointments and notes, and set the alarm to remind you when it's your mother's birthday. There's a built-in infrared link, so...

Applause deserves Applause and an Ovation
Review of Applause AE64 Acoustic Electric Guitar by
Prollara
Advantages: Great professional Guitar with American Parts assembled overseas
Disadvantages: None
...Applause AE 48
I have owned a top of the linw Ovation Elite and a Standard Blladeer. I have recently purchased an AE 48. Why? Because I am outdoor player (171 concerts last year alone.) I dent, chip and break guiatrs. I've owned top flight guitars such as a Rainsong. I originally went to purchase another guitar for outdoor use. This Applause AE 48 was in the window. I thought that it would be a chaeper version in quality than an American Ovation counterpart, but not so. It played better than anything I was testing that day. The workmanship and final product was as good as American, plus it came with a handwritten checklist from a factory in China (which they forgot to tak off.) The parts are American (probably 100%) and it seems to be merely assembled there due to economic reasons. The top is solid spruce, the frets, neck, bowl, etc...

Applause deserves an Ovation (corrected version)

Take the little ones for a relaxing day out
Review of Lakemore Country Park, Cheshire by
harveygeorge2
Advantages: Avoid the crowds
Disadvantages: not well sign posted
...seemed very happy with lots of room.
Indoor and outdoor play areas. Outdoor area suited to older children although my little boy had great fun on the slide and so did I. Outdoor area included slide, climbing frame, wobbly bridge over wood chips.
Indoor play area consisted of large sand pit area with lots of toys, two wendy houses, climbing frames and slides for toddlers up to the age of four and lots of trikes, bikes and cars to push and sit in. Also a small ball pit/climbing gym and a small box with books to read.
This place needs people to visit it to keep it going. Unfortunately it is not well sign posted and they do not have a website but if you take the A534 from Sandbach to Crewe heading southwest to Crewe, go over the wheelock roundabout. Take the second turning on your right which is Clay Road. It has a small sign on the right...

Sport with a difference
Review of Curling - General by
Robert332
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...Curling is a winter sport that is usually played indoors in Scotland, although it can be played outdoors if the weather is cold enough. The game can be compared to bowls but is played on ice. The principle is the same, ie get a many of your "stones" as near to the centre as possible. The normal game consists of two teams of four players, with each player delivering two stones. (the stones weigh 3 stones, but you do not need to lift them). The are slid along the ice and the other team members use special brushes to reduce the friction on the ice and control the stones speed. The game consists of ten ends and usually last for two hours. Children can start to learn the game from about ten years of age and there is usually a ggod coaching system in place at the ice rinks. The game encougares team spirit and is very socialble (usually a visit...

Hockey in general
Review of Bradford Hockey Club by
Sticky_fingaz
Advantages: Great fun to play. Easy to pick up.
Disadvantages: Kit is expensive.
...join a club they can provide kit for you.
Hockey can be played indoors and outdoors. The indoor game is very exciting, with quick end to end matches. There are five players to a team, and any one can get in the action. If you watch an indoor game, it is almost guaranteed to be high scoring.
The more well known version, is the outdoor game. This usually consist of eleven players, unless you are playing the mini version. The mini version is seven a side and is played on only half the normal pitch. The eleven a side game is hard work, but very rewarding to play.
The aim of the game in both indoor and outdoor game is very simple. To score more goals than the other team. The rules are simple too. I will not go in to detail, but I shall explain some of the basic rules. You can only move the ball with your stick (unless you...

AND NOW ........ ON TV !
Review of Downtown Superstore (Department Stores) by
Janej47
Advantages: enormous site selling a huge variety of goods
Disadvantages: impulse buying !!
...feeling is that , as long as they have the sense to keep post and packing prices reasonably low , this will be a shopping channel worth watching
The site itself has a separate and huge garden centre which sells not only plants and sheds in the large outdoor and semi-covered area , but also harder-to-find items such as large bronze outdoor ornaments and unusual garden lighting indoors.
Ride on mowers to wellies , outdoor thermometers to desktop weather centres , and homemade jams and pickles adorn the lower level , whilst upstairs you will find patio furniture , outdoor clothing and a cafe with play area for the little ones
This area is also the " seasonal " section , and at Christmas is transformed into a Winter wonderland with animated creatures , lighting effects and lots of snow ( but unfortunately no Santa's Grotto )
The main store has...

Surrender to the Madness
Review of Motocross Madness 2 (PC) by
SirLink
Advantages: Incredible graphics and animations, varied gameplay and environments; robust online play
Disadvantages: Inconsistent handling; no music during gameplay
...could use some music. I felt an emptiness while playing, especially while outdoors enjoying the Stunt Quarry or Enduro modes. Microsoft could've at least given us the option to play our own CDs or import MP3s or WMA files.
These relatively minor shortcomings aside, Motocross Madness 2 is hands down one of the best solo or multiplayer arcade racing offerings ever....

Courgettes so easy to grow
Review of Courgettes by
Gardenex
Advantages: easy to grow
Disadvantages: none
...Anyone can grow Courgettes , they are childs play . All they are in fact are a younger version of a marrow . A courgette becomes a marrow when it is left on the plant and not picked early. In effect they are the same vegetable at different stages of maturity !
The family is called Curbita and other members include the pumpkin , marrow and squashes.
The main requirements are well manured soil and plenty of moisture when the ground gets dry .
Apart from thgis there is nothing much to worry about . Slugs can be a problem in wet Springs but few pests attack this family .
A variety I would reccomend is Zucchini this really is a good doer .
Plants should be ready to crop in mid July from a late May sowing outdoors.
Why not have a go , the flavour beats anything in the shops....
