...I purchased the Siemens Gigaset USB Adaptor 108 from Play.com for £7.99 including P&P. An absolute bargain when you consider what lesser devices retail for. This USB adaptor supports the 108Mbps SuperG wireless standard, and is backwards compatible with a, b and regular G networks too. It supports WEP, WPA and WPA2. The unit is very small, about the size of a box of matches. It has, what appears to be, a shielded cable about a metre long with a standard USB plug on the end. There is a little aerial which folds down, though this doesn't really make it any more convenient to carry round. There are two green LEDs to tell you the power is connected and to show wireless network activity. The unit is light, but feels like it's well made. Advantages: Save batteries
Disadvantages: A bit costly

...returned home, with a memory card full of images. To view them I transferred them all to my computer. And then what happened? (Pointless me asking you since, one, I already know the answer, and two, how the flaming heck would you know. That is only unless you stalk me and know my secrets). The batteries went dead. Yes after one day they had less life in them than what is in George Bush's skull. I thought that it was a bit strange how they went dead so quickly, so on the phone I got to Nikon, who said it would have been the transferring of the images to computer that would have drained the batteries. They suggested getting a power adaptor to use when transferring images instead of using batteries. It is imazing that despite increasing globalisation and the unification and standardisation of many entities around the world, electrical power is one thing that varies around the world. From the US and Canada's 110V 3-round pin supply, to Europe's 250V 2-round pin supply, to Africa's Anglo-european comibination, it is quite easy to accidentally damage a device by plugging it in incorrectly. The kensington adaptor is a useful, if half-hearted device. The multiple plugs are self contained making it easy to carry, and all that is needed is for the user to select the required one and plug it into the wall.
