...The Primo Viaggio car seat is a rear facing group 0+ car seat meaning it is suitable for babies from birth to 13kg (or till they are about 12-15 months). I bought mine as part of a travel system but to buy separately they are approximately £90 from various retailers as well as Mamas and Papas stores obviously. The seat itself is well padded as are the deep sides. As well as this padding the Primo Viaggio comes with a head hugger and extra optional chest and buckle pads. If you buy this as part of the Mamas and Papas Freestyler Completo Travel System you also get a Completo Comfort Pad which you can use as even more comfy padding in the Primo Viaggio. I did find that when my son was newborn that there seemed to be too much padding if you used the chest pads too – he just seemed swamped by them, but this is easily remedied by taking... Read review

...This is a fabulous film. It focuses on two Italian brothers, Primo and Secondo, who are trying to run a restaurant in America. Primo does the cooking while Secondo manages the business. Primo is very temperamental and he will not compromise his culinary beliefs and make run-of –the-mill dishes. I loved how he practically has a coronary when any of the customers order dishes that he doesn’t approve of like spaghetti bolognese. Pascal is a rival restauranteur, but unlike Primo and Secondo, his restaurant is a success as he serves the usual Italian food. Pascal tells Secondo that he will arrange for his friend, the great Jazz musician Louis Prima, to have a meal at their restaurant. This dinner is the ‘Big Night’ of the title as the brothers believe that the success of this night will set out whether their restaurant... Read review

...I turned this movie on television when it was aired just before one Holocaust Remembrance Day. Heaven knows I've seen many, many films about the Holocaust, but this really is a very special film. Based on the autobiographical book "The Reawakening" by Primo Levi, it doesn't look into the experience of being in a concentration camp at all. What it does look at is what happened to survivors afterwards instead. This is a subject far too often ignored, and it is therefore (in my mind) an essential documentary of a time of both historical and personal turmoil. This is a poignant, believable and heart wrenching account of Primo Levi's journey from Auschwitz back to his home in Turin, Italy. When you think about it, this journey was most probably as difficult, if not more difficult to survive than being in the camps. Here are the survivors... Read review

Advantages: it is light, it is easy to fit, and feels very sturdy when it is fitted.
Disadvantages: the sun canopy not very easy to take on and off, so don't use it very often.

...I have found the primo viaggio car seat very easy to use. It fits into and out of the base very easily, so saves hassle when taking baby in and out of car. It feels very sturdy when it is fitted. It releases from the base with just one pull on a handle! The carry handle has several fixed positions to use for different purposes. One for carrying, one to stabilise the seat into a fixed sitting position. Another to secure the seat against a car seat when fixed into the car, and a neutral position which I use when I use the seat to rock baby to sleep. The rocking function can also be disabled by pulling into place two stabilisers underneath the seat. The only bad thing that I have found with this seat is the sun canopy, which isn't very easy to fit onto the seat. Apart from that it is quite an expensive car seat, but I think... Read review

During the second world war he was interned by his fellow countrymen because he was jewish, and then ultimately shipped off to Auschwitz. The first book tells the story of his life in Italy and the events that led to the jewish community in his area being named and then shipped 'east'. His account of his time in Auschwitz is moving and poignant. It is truly one of the best books that I have read on the holocaust as it is a personal and touching account of one man's survival in a situation that is incomprehendible to anyone, no matter how much you know of what happened during that terrible period of history. ...Buying a new borns car seat is probably the most important thing that you will purchase prior to the birth of your child. That is why I think that you should be aware of the following: I think that mamas and papas took advantage of their 'ferrari of the baby products' name when it came to designing the Primo Viaggio car seat. It is true to say that it looks good and the Surefix base is an excellent idea especially for those of us that have three door cars - as it is incredibly easy to fit the base and you only have to fit it once. But on some of these cars the base doesn't sit at the right angle and so this means that the car seat and so in turn the baby is tilted too far forward. This is certainly the case in my Citroen Saxo. The moment that my daughter (Hanna) falls asleep whilst in the car her head bobs about with every movement... Read review
