Blink & A Small Town Dies. But Princeton Thrives
Review of Princeton by  tastebud

Advantages: Vibrant small town with lots of charm
Disadvantages: Surrounding area being rapidly developed

...For decades, small American towns have been dying out as housing developments and sterile, sprawling shopping centres built on the outskirts of once-vibrant communities have come to dominate the landscape. Princeton, New Jersey, a picturesque town of about 25,000, located half-way between New York City and Philadelphia, has, however, escaped this fate. This makes it a worthwhile destination for anyone visiting or passing through the state. AROUND TOWN SHOPPING A visit to Princeton begins at Palmer Square, the town centre. Here and all along the nearby Nassau and Witherspoon Streets is an impressive range of clothing, specialty and gift shops. Several small boutiques specialise in men's, women's and children's apparel from casual to formal, while a number of well-known chains like Ann Taylor, Talbots, Gap, Banana Republic and J... Fender Princeton
Review of Fender Princeton 112 Plus by  godspeed

Advantages: Great looks, decent volume
Disadvantages: Volume control, clean tone controls

...I bought a Princeton 112+ for £200 about 2 years ago, so the main point on the plus side for this amp is the value. Although its pretty small, this amp is a very loud 65W, and is perfectly loud enough for even large pub/club gigs. The amp is a 1x12" combo, with two channels and a master reverb control. The first channel (clean) only has controls for volume/treble/bass; while the distortion channel has gain/volume/treble/bass/contour. The contour control - similar to that on most Marshall Valvestates - works by shifting the range of the middle frequencies, so it does a bit more than a simple middle pot. Basically, turn it one way and the distortion sounds kinda bluesy, turn it the other way and you've got scooped thrash metal. I think the distortion is a bit crap, but you can get it to sound good with a lot of EQ tweaking - so it won... Read review

Take your Hard Drive with you
Review of Q-Tec 750H by  Deru

Advantages: Cheap, Much cheaper than external Hard Drives, USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connection, Easy to set up, USB 1.1 Backward compatible, works with MAC
Disadvantages: Only supports up to 120GB, requires installation

...WHAT IS IT? I’m reviewing the ‘Q-Tec USB2 HDD 3.5” Case’. Now many of you are probably thinking “What the hell is that?”. Well, it’s basically a case where you put your Hard Disk Drive (HDD) in, so you can use the HDD while it’s out of your computer. The HDD is the ‘storage disk’, usually found inside the computer and it is the place where you store all your software, documents and any other files you may have such as mp3s, pictures, etc. The HDD looks like a small silver box, with black plastic areas around the edges. It has a disk inside that spins around while data is read from it and written to it by a needle. You don’t see the ‘disk’, as it is enclosed inside the drive but you can usually hear it. People are usually referring to HDD capacity when they bring up numbers like 20GB, 40GB, 80GB, etc when discussing computer... Read review

Value For Money Amp
Review of Fender Princeton 112 Plus by  Paolo1

Advantages: Good clean tone
Disadvantages: Overdrive is brittle, sound controls too sensitive

...Being on a tight budget and not being able to afford a meaty head/cab setup I chose to purchase a Fender Princeton 112 plus combo. I bought mine for £240 about 3 years ago but the price has dropped since then. At 65W it is fairly loud, enough to play small venues quite happliy but larger venues will require re-enforcement. The clean channel has volume, treble and bass. The addition of a middle control could have been of use but it doesn't really matter. The tone is bright and crisp and has a very pleasing sound. The drive channel has volume, gain, bass, and treble. The distortion is quite brittle and ,unless you spend a lot of time fine tuning the amp, it doesn't really compare to that of a Marshall Valvestate or similar amp. It is lacking in bottom end and the tone is harsh. The reverb is nice but again is nothing out of the ordinary... Read review

Power to the people
Review of Q-Tec Dual Fan Gold power supply - 550 Watt by  Rabid

Advantages: Very cheap, 2 fans
Disadvantages: None

...Arguably the most important component inside your PC is its power supply, the power supply unit (PSU) provides the power to every other component inside your computer ie: Motherboard, hard drive, processor, graphics card etc etc... and all these components require a powerful and extremely stable PSU in order to operate as intended. 14 months ago i built my current PC and opted to use the Q-tec 550 watt dual fan gold as its power supply unit, most modern day PC power supplies average around 350 watt and they are predominantly fine for most PC's but as you add extra components to your PC like extra hard drives, or a faster processor or faster graphics card then you may get close to reaching the limit of your particular power supply which can result in either the PSU not functioning properly (causing serious system instability... The National Grid must love me!
Review of Q-Tec Dual Fan Gold power supply - 450 Watt by  foehammer

Advantages: Seems reliable, nice looking and cheap
Disadvantages: i have heard a few to many bad reports about this PSU

...and crashes, damage to parts and lots more including overheating if the fans cant get the right amount of power to cool everything. Now with the why's and what it does out of the way let me explain this particular PSU. I bought this PSU from overclockers.co.uk, it cost me £21 i believe with VAT inc, the PSU comes packaged in a sturdy box, with the Q-Tec branding stickers on it, giving the details of this particular unit. Inside was a neatly packaged PSU, shining brighly with the gold coloured metal case with lots of wires for all the connections that will be need to be made to all the various components, a few screws to attach it to the inside of your case and a manual, well more of a leaflet really stating a few do's and dont's. Installation was easy as i have done this before, and every PSU i have come across has been of a unversal size... Read review

Honda Civic Sport 1.6 V-tec, 3 door.
Review of Honda Civic 1.6 VTEC Sport 3dr by  shazilrock

Advantages: Mans Car, Fast, Very Stylish, Economical
Disadvantages: Repairs,

...My boyfriend bought this car in June 2006 (it was 1 year old at this point). He pays almost £900 for insurance with Arnold Clark (whom he bought it from - he was aged 22 at the time). That's fully comp, and includes business class 1 terms, so for his first car and own insurance policy (no other drivers), I think it's not too bad (insurance group 6). Elephant.co.uk have offered him a quote of almost £650 with 1 years no claims. Again, not too bad. I drive the car on occasion. It's maybe a bit slow off the mark (it can feel as though the gear grinds between 1st and 2nd), however, other than that it goes through the gears with ease. You can feel the power of the engine when the V-tec kicks in, at around 60 mph. The car has good fuel consumption. My boyfriend uses his car every day for work, quite a lot at weekends too, and he uses £35... Read review

Save Your Old LP's NOW With This
Review of TerraTec Phono PreAmp Studio USB by  penguin1052

Advantages: Save LP's and Tapes To CD With Ease
Disadvantages: Initial Cost

...much a case of just playing you old track and recording it in, so the time taken is the length of the track. Then editing is entirely up to you, as soon as you feel it is right just burn it to CD. RELIABILITY Great I’ve heard a lot about TerraTec, but this is the first product I’ve used. Since I’ve had no problems probably will do again. It always sees the device when you plug it in and it never looses the connection with it either. EASE OF INSTALLATION Very easy, all you do is plug the USB cable into the back of your PC and then put the CD into the drive and follow the instructions on screen. The software is a case of playing with it once it is installed, although the manual will guide you through it pretty well. INSTRUCTION MANUAL Nice, easy to follow steps in a easy to follow format. Guides you through from the basics... Read review

Cheap and cheerful PSU, and reliable too
Review of Q-Tec Triple Fan power supply - 650 Watt by  Danneey

Advantages: Triple Fan, nice gold colour, Serial-ATA cable, cheap, 650W
Disadvantages: None

...When I upgraded to a 64 bit AMD Athlon, I upgraded a few other bits and pieces too. A new graphics card, new hard drive, and new CD-Rom drive, along with the new CPU, my old power supply just wasn't capable. I wanted a strong supply, at a budget price, and Q-Tec seemed to fit the bill quite nicely, at the price I was dubious but the PSU has performed admirably now for well over a year. The PSU is cooled by three fans, 2 x 80mm, and 1 x 120 mm, which you would expect to be noisy, but this wasn't the case. The quoted noise level of 29 dB seems nothing compared to another fan within my case. These fans are temperature controlled, so when the PSU is doing very little, there is little noise coming from the fans. The package contents are, the PSU, and not a lot else. Think a little manual wouldn't have gone a miss, maybe... Read review
