Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Xbox 360) by
retrakill
Advantages: Feels Real, Match atmosphere captured brilliantly, brilliant in multiplayer
Disadvantages: bad menus, bad music, not the greatest graphics in the world
...Every year the big sports games companies unleash their new football games on the fervent consumers. This year, Konami released Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 to critical indifference. The game has been seen, up util now, as the greatest adaptation of modern football for games consoles. This year though, EA's FIFA 2008 stole the crown with its superb visuals and in depth career mode. In my humble opinion, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is the far better game. I purchased both games on release date but have since sold FIFA. The reason for this is the fact that FIFA provides an admitedly impressive experience, but one that gets stale very quickly. Match ups between lesser teams play exactly the same as a game between the best rated teams in the game. Pro Evo 08 though, is filled with unpredicatble and fun moments.
The control system...

Evolution - Worthy of any console
Review of International Superstar Soccer Pro Evolution (PSX) by
Chris_Woodcock
Advantages: Miles ahead of their competitors, playablity, smooth graphics, totally addictive
Disadvantages: Lack of official names
...The football game market for consoles nowadays is extremely competitive to say the least. Rarely does a series of games take control and show the rest how it should be done. The ISS Pro range is one of the exceptions. I purchased Evolution just after it came out. Sure I had a Fifa game (who doesn't) and Actua Soccer. I wondered what difference ISS Pro would bring. Was I in for a surprise. Smooth graphics, playability and the ability to make you want more and more. It says a lot for a game that it can be so popular yet still have no license to use proper names. I would describe this as the definitive game in my collection. You will never become bored of this game. ISS Pro evolution 2 was launched last weekend. Looks like I'll have to break open the piggy bank again!...

The beatiful game at its best!!!!
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (Xbox) by
Tom150990
Advantages: Very good gameplay
Disadvantages: Some kits, player names and team names are wrong
...I think Pro evolution 4 is the best football game on the market at the moment. There is a few things that let it down though, it dosen't have all the proper team kits and names also some of the player names are wrong. It might not be the best looking football game but the gameplay more than makes up for it. You can unlock various different things on the game by getting PES points by winning tournaments and leagues, for example you can unlock different footballs, old players, higher difficulty levels etc. The master league has also improved since the last installment of pro evolution. If you want the most realistic gameplay this is the game for you but if you want the better looks and proper names and kits i would advise you to buy Fifa 2005, but in my oppinion pro evolutions gameplay beats Fifa's looks and names. You can buy this game...

pro evo or fifa? gotta be pro evo 6
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (PS2) by
jimmijamie
Advantages: excellent gameplay,realistic passing etc
Disadvantages: not all licensed which can be annoying
...now there is the old argument about whether fifa or pro evolution is better as a football game, and personally i used to be a fifa fanatic but after playing pro evo 3 became hooked on it. pro evo 5 i found a bit disappointing and was thinking of switching back to licensed fifa when this came out. luckily pro evo have pulled a masterpiece out of their hat with pro evo 6. the gameplay is fantastic and it can be extremely difficult to score goals at times, just like real football. they take into account all aspects of the game, not just graphics and how realistic the players look (cough fifa) and have added all new features into the mix too. for football games fans this is a must buy and those that are fifa fans should at least give this a try; it is probably more difficult to play and not for beginner players, but is extremely addictive...

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 for xbox 360 review
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Xbox 360) by
petemiguel
Advantages: Gameplay crushes any other football game!
Disadvantages: licenses still not included!
...I have had all of the pro evolution games since back when it was International superstar soccer many years ago!
I think these games get better everytime but still always lack something vital in certain departments. This version is no different.
The graphics are brilliant, with moving crowd that hold their heads in their hands when you concede a goal and literally cheer with each other when you score.
As for the gameplay...well...it never stops getting better on each version. This is what sets pro evo apart from any other football game and for me it bridges a gap that is massive!!!
Fifa has everything set out well with real licenses (unlike pro evo), but pro evo masters the way you can pass, shoot, dribble and cross. Theres something so real and natural about how the football is actually played that can not be touched by other games...

Can it get better ??
Review of International Superstar Soccer Pro Evolution (PSX) by
NickyC
Advantages: A great game, brillaint. Superb gameplay
Disadvantages: Not proper players names
...Internation Super Soccer Pro Evolution is a truely remarkable game. You can play as any of the World's major internation football teams and this includes Iran and Northan Ireland, so there's a lot of teams!
You can also play as World all stars, Classic World all stars, Euro all stars and Classic Euro All Stars, but to play as, or against these teams you need to won the master league, which is not easy!
On the field ISS Pro Evolution is just as good and varied. You can configure each button to have both an attacking and defensive duty.
Unlike other football games for the Playstation, there are many ways to score on ISS Pro, obviously some are used more than others, but the same goal is never scored twice.
And when you do score a great goal you can save it and replay it form every possible angle....

The best football game currently available.
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (Xbox) by
CSMasson
Advantages: The most realistic football game available.
Disadvantages: Not many, apart from fake player and club names!
...Having owned all of the previous Fifa and Pro Evolution games, this is by far the most realistic game currently available to buy.
The general gameplay is very good, and the passing, running and shooting is more realistic than other games, although I think there is still a lot that can be developed.
You can score a lot of very good goals, great passes and though balls and most of the time the gameplay is very good once you get used to the fact that the shoot and cross button for Pro Evolution and Fifa are the opposite of each other!
If you play this on XBox Live you will know how addictive this game can be when playing against others. The game plays just like it does | | |
