...Every year the big sports games companies unleash their new football games on the fervent consumers. This year, Konami released Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 to critical indifference. The game has been seen, up util now, as the greatest adaptation of modern football for games consoles. This year though, EA's FIFA 2008 stole the crown with its superb visuals and in depth career mode. In my humble opinion, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is the far better game. I purchased both games on release date but have since sold FIFA. The reason for this is the fact that FIFA provides an admitedly impressive experience, but one that gets stale very quickly. Match ups between lesser teams play exactly the same as a game between the best rated teams in the game. Pro Evo 08 though, is filled with unpredicatble and fun moments. The control system... ...Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is KONAMI's latest soccer game. The game-play is very similar to that of the previous version; the only noticable difference is in the player's ability to more skilfully turn with the ball. The speed seems slower, but this is an advantage in my opinion, because the previous games were far too fast. New fancy skills have been added but these can take quite some time to learn. If you are thinking of buying books to swat up on new skills, I would advise trying online guides first, as the books never tell you everything. As for new features - the new additions in the theatre area allow you to change the music on the menu. The Graphics in Pro 2008 are simply the best of the entire series. ...The football game market for consoles nowadays is extremely competitive to say the least. Rarely does a series of games take control and show the rest how it should be done. The ISS Pro range is one of the exceptions. I purchased Evolution just after it came out. Sure I had a Fifa game (who doesn't) and Actua Soccer. I wondered what difference ISS Pro would bring. Was I in for a surprise. Smooth graphics, playability and the ability to make you want more and more. It says a lot for a game that it can be so popular yet still have no license to use proper names. I would describe this as the definitive game in my collection. You will never become bored of this game. ISS Pro evolution 2 was launched last weekend. Looks like I'll have to break open the piggy bank again!... Read review

...Konami still rules on making brilliant soccer installations, entertainment, excitements, stimulations and creative platforms. Let's put it this way by saying that konami brought out the ultimate soccer formula after EA games failed to do so for almost a century ago. I have to award konami for that but since the releases of play station2 pro evolution series; there are not many differences between the previous pro evolution installations and the recent ones. But all the same, thanks to konami for their brilliant soccer installations full of brilliant game plays and artificial intelligence. As usual, I will not fail to recommend this to pro evolution hard-core fans because if I fail to do so, then I have failed to pass very vital information among pro evo fans. ...well what can i say pro Evolution Soccer is by far the best football game i have ever played on the ps2, well the best football game i have ever played on all consoles! the initial thought on Pro Evolution Soccer (Pro) is by many first time buyers to be out of the league compared to the Fifa series. However this is far from the case. Many people consider this to be the case because lets face it Fifa has been around for quite some time now, cared to Konami's pro series. As pro shows the time period a games seris has been going doesnt neccesarily mean it kicks other titiles off the pitch. Pro stars off with a great into to the game with very imprssive graphics and sound to the video. This is follwed up by a very easy to naviage main menu with many options, for example exibition match, and cup mode. The overall depth of the game... Read review

...pro evoultion soccer 4 is the best football game on the ps2 and xbox! The realism is fantastic,the gameplay and other features make it the best game on ps2, In the new version of pes there have been many new features inluding the spanish, italien and dutch leagues fully licensed, all improved master league mode, new edit mode in which you can change and make your own club badges. The gameplay of the game is amazing as you can do loads of new tricks, tackles and shots to make the gameplay even more realistic. The new freekick system is quality you are lining up for a free kick in the last minute and you are real madrid do you go for the beckham style free kick or the carlos rocket free kick! The downside to the pro evo series is the unofficial names of teams and players so you could be editing the whole game before you play it... Read review
