Reviews of puma football boots
The king of comfort and control
Review of Puma King Pro by
JonBoyAce
Advantages: Comfortable, reliable, simple but effective.
Disadvantages: Might not appeal to someone after a flashy boot.
...After recently being persuaded by a friend to try on his Puma king Pro's, I rushed to the shops to purchase a pair of the exact same boot. In the past I had questioned the need for such an expensive pair of footwear. However, after using them for a period of time I can recommend them to any budding footballer. The Pittards upper is soft without losing the feel for a ball, with extreme comfort. Indeed, I have once worn them for a 5 hour football epic and my feet were only slightly sore as opposed to blistered all over. Also, after treating them with little respect by leaving them to become mouldy in a plastic bag, the leather is still extremely soft and the boot is a joy to slip on. On the field the Puma King Pro acts as it should do, it lets you feel the ball, it grips the ball well when adding curl, and translates the power from your...

The F50 Boot
Review of Adidas F50 by
whitby_qpr
Advantages: Stylish
Disadvantages: Not the best material for football
...I never normally buy Adidas football boots although I thought I would give the F50's a go. Looking at them I thought they were some of the most sytlish boots that i've ever seen.
Having worn these boots on several occasions I have realised that they are not really different than any Adidas or nike boot as I do find these brands very similar in trying to create a stylish affect instead of a practical one. I have also come decision that I prefer either Puma or Umbro as I prefer the more lether feel.
Also the F50's do like to absorb water when it starts to rain as I found out on several occasions when you sudenly realise that you have bricks on your feet.
I therefore have come to the decision that the F50 football is not the most practical ever designed and feel as i have said already that Puma and Umbro are a little better....

the king of footy boots
Review of Puma King Pro by
Deviant
Advantages: wide fitting, kangeroo
Disadvantages: expensive
...Ever since I was a kid I wanted a pair of puma kings and now I finally have them they do not disappoint. Having wide feet these boots fit me alot better than other brands(namely addidas predators that didnt fit at all well). The aluminium tipped studs are still firm in after 1 season with no sign of becoming loose or dangerous.
Due to the material used Pittards 80 SDL leather they do not shrink when wet and breath well. The boots are easy to clean and the stitching and general manufacted quality is of a very high standard.
However the age old techonology of studs is behind other boots unlike the predators and newer puma kings tend to hurt the parts of your feet where the studs are on harder ground in a hard game.
These boots will last and work hard when you do....

Punchy Puma
Review of Ford Puma 1.7 by
stephbu
Advantages: Looks
Disadvantages: Insurance
...great torque at even low revs thanks to its excellent Zetec variable valve technology. Acceleration is superb with traction control at low-speed, complemented by the exilarating engine sounds (allegedly Ferrari-style audibly tuned) The car is front-wheel driven, and handling is stable with little body roll, and predictable, producing understeer in most conditions. Good brakes and ABS as standard help you stop on a dime. Large treads on the stylish Puma alloys encourage you to push the Puma to the limits.
Internally the car is arranged as a 2+2 with spacious boot (suprisingly its larger than our Mazda 323 hatchback's boot) The dash is finished in standard black, trimmed with silver panelling and details. Driver instruments finished as clearly visible white dials, rally-style. The look is topped off with an Aluminium Alloy gearstick...

My Pretty Kitty Kat
Review of Ford Puma 1.7 by
carysb
Advantages: Coupe, Sleek, Attractive, Handles Well,
Disadvantages: Space
...have fitted mats in all foot wells because I find that it can be quite a tricky material to hoover as dirt and crumbs tend to stick to the carpet.
What the Puma lacks in legroom for passengers it makes up in boot space for their shopping. I have found that the boot space is more than adequate and I managed to put the seats down and move all my belongings from my student accommodation in one trip. There is plenty of space for lots of bags and you can still manage to put the parcel shelf in place infact it probably fits better when the boot is full (more about that later). The parcel shelf is grey and fits well with the rest of the interior.
This Puma is my second, it's a 51 plate whereas my previous was a 1997 registration and I love it. The dials (speedometer and rev counter) have a white background which automatically illuminates when you...

This is one of Ford's better cars.
Review of Ford Puma 1.7 by
Stevis2002
Advantages: Handling, Looks
Disadvantages: Older models don't stop too well.
...I have owned a Ford Puma for the last 12 months now, and prior to that I used to help build them. I am very happy with my car. It is a 1.7 vct Lux (2001, YReg).
The standard features on the Puma 1.7 are, electric windows, heated rear windscreen,cd player, abs, air conditioning, pas, alloy wheels, and traction control.
With the Lux pack, you also get Quick clear, heated front windscreen, electric mirrors, Puma embossed carpet mats and chrome scuff shields.
The problem with earlier Puma's is that they wasn't very good at stopping from speed, but Ford realised this problem and made the newer models with larger front brake discs on them.
The later Lux pack models also have a 6 disc cd stack system in as opposed to the standard 1 disc.
The performance of the Puma is very good, as is the engine. The 0-60 speed for the 1.7 is about 7...

Puma shin pads
Review of Puma Munito by
dingoo
Advantages: good price, attractive design, excellent protection
Disadvantages: thickness when waering in matches.
...I bought these shin pads new for £12.99, having totally obliterated my older shin pads in a match.
I bought the gold and black coloured pads as I thought they looked very good, as for warring the pads they are very comfortable with a rugged stiff gold coloured outer for good shin protection.
I always buy the sort of shin pads that have incorporated ankle support and protection which with thick football socks provide excellent ankle protection.
The material is tough wearing padded nylon round the ankle support and the shin support is gold reinforced plastic with padded inners to absorb any impact on the shin.
This is covered in tough yet soft material for added comfort where the pad rests on the skin.
For £12.99 at my local high street sports store I'm sure you could get them cheaper but I thought he price was very good.
Puma...

Sport & Soccer
Review of Sport Soccer (Shop) by
charkai
Advantages: cheap, brand named sportswear
Disadvantages: usually very busy & crowded
...Sport & Soccer is a great shop if you want to buy branded sportswear at a reasonable price.
They sell a huge variety of tops, jumpers, tracksuit bottoms, trainers, footballs, bags, golf equipment, roller blades, hats, ski boots, and pretty much any other kind of sportswear in between.
All of their goods are BRAND NEW and the latest (as in current style/current football strips/England shirts/trainers). They seem to buy in bulk, so they can offer very competitive prices, and as such, their prices are significantly less than in other sports shops such as JJB.
Quite a large part of their stock consists of Donnay, or Umbro. And it is these makes that you can pick up really cheaply. T-Shirts for under £10 for men and women, and this range is especially good for young kids, as they are less style-conscious! I recently picked up a Umbro T...

An ideal family car???
Review of Ford Puma 1.6l by
korova_blue
Advantages: Easy to drive, looks the dogs, reliable
Disadvantages: rear parcel shelf dislodging from mounts
...there was absolutely nothing wrong with the hire car, he had just got used to the more powerful Puma - this is the exact moment in time when his opinion of the Puma had it's dramatic U-turn.
Alas, the poor old Puma had to take second place once my son arrived in 2003 and pleasurable Saturday mornings spent poring over my car with a bottle of Mer became a distant memory. When I had my baby I was advised by my family to sell the Puma, as it would be too impractical to use with a baby. I'm glad I didn't listen to that advice. I actually find the boot on the Puma more than adequate for a pushchair plus the week's shopping (although the shopping bags do go on the bag seat as well). It is certainly more roomy in the boot than my families' other car (a Toyota Yaris).
The back seats are rather small, but bearable. When my son was born I had his rear...

Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur - Mansion shirt
Review of Puma Tottenham Home Football Shirt by
craggybuk
Advantages: Ultra light - great for all occasions
Disadvantages: Spurs wording fades on the collar very quickly
.... The local sports shops are only interested in Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea, a policy which really annoys me but thats another story. Even the Tottenham club shop was out of stock so I ended up buying online form a sports shop in that well known hotbed of football, Cornwall!!
£43 later (including P&P) I was in posession of my shirt. On unwrapping it the first thought that came into my mind was how light it is. The label reports it to be 100% polyester. Either way, it is the lightest football shirt I have ever owned, a massive step forward from my 90s Adidas-Holsten shirt. From the top down the shirt comprises of a blue collar with the word 'Spurs' on the back though this actually faded on the first wash. Moving down you get the Puma badge on the right breast with the newly designed Tottenham cockerell on the left breast...
