Yamaha Grizzly 125
Review of Yamaha Grizzly 125 by
euan.ferguson68
Advantages: easy to operate, good second hand value
Disadvantages: key in wrong position
...cheaper ATVs but what has to be thought about is the second hand value in two, three or even five years time and Yamaha seem to consistently hold their value, look on ebay for second hand ATVs and the 125 Yamahas will never be less than £800 to £1,000, not bad for a bike costing £2500 new!! Need to wait a couple of years to see if the Polaris equivalents will hold their value as well.
One factor that should be thought about before buying a Grizzly or in fact and quad bike – Where are you going to Use it? If you have legal access to a significant piece of ground, say 500 acres you should buy a bike. If you don’t really think hard about it. The new legislation in the UK giving a “Right to Roam” access does not extend to vehicles with engines. So you have to get permission from a landowner for access to their ground, easy enough maybe, but...

What Quad will you race?
Review of ATV Offroad Fury (PSP) by
me_and_my_teddybear
Advantages: great graphics great sound
Disadvantages: none
...As some of you may know through reading my Honda 400ex review, my family and I are true ATV/Quad Bike fans.
When we heard that there was to be a few quad games coming out for the PSP we were really pleased but thought to ourselves, "Will the graphics be any good?" and " Nothing's better than the real thing" but we was proven wrong.
ATV OFF ROAD FURY is just one in a series of many, but still very fun to play and the graphics are excellent.
Not so easy to learn the trick at first but with practice it became much easier.
Game Overview
ATV Off Road Fury is a racing game published by Sony and Developer by the Climax Group. I'm not 100% sure when it came out in the UK but I do know that in March 2005 it came out in the USA.
This really is a great game, it is an Intense, free-roaming, off-road racing that gives you...

Polaris Nexus Bike Touring Short
Review of Polaris Nexus by
Bikester
Advantages: Quality of mayerials & manufacture. Pocket arrangements
Disadvantages: Shape design and cut. Cost.
...Wanted an all purpose touring short to replace my Beanbags which are destined for the dustbin.
Polaris Nexus Touring Short: Tried to find local shops which stoke this item, but without luck. Therefore bought on-line. Pleasantly surprised by quality of material and manufacture.
All going well until I tried them on. At six foot, I'm tall but not enormous. With a normal waist of 36" I obtained the XL size (37"). The waist would have been just right if it was at my waist. Fit is more like a pair of hipsters than cycling shorts. Needs a further 2" in body length. Given the XL tag, the seat was far too tight and the cut at the front (under the delicate bits) more so. I have a traditional dropped bar touring bilke with bars 2" below saddle, so tend to lean forward - after an hour, dowright uncomfortable. Does raise question whether...

How to become a Quad Racer / Rider
Review of Everything that starts with H ... by
me_and_my_teddybear
Advantages: Fun, Exciting Experience
Disadvantages: None at all.......best thing ever
...Quad Biking ~ What is it?
Up until a few years ago Quad biking was hardly recognised. Just recently Quads have become a much more popular thing for people to have. There are now so many places and track accepting Quads and there are numerous Quad events going on all over the UK, some even spreading over into the rest of Europe.
Quads are fun and very entertaining for all ages. There are many different types of Quad Biking experiences such as, Utility Quads which farmers use, Leisure Quads the type you fine at holiday parks but my favouriteare the Sports Quads for events and races.
There are so many types of Quads, different sizes, engine cc's, colours, graphical designs, specs and many more other differences.
Where did Quad Biking Begin?
Quad biking can be done on almost any terrain, from...

Review of Polaris Challenge by
Pritch
Advantages: Great fun... after you get off the bike
Disadvantages: Really hard work
...The Polaris Challenge is not something that many people will have heard of, so let's explain; it's an orienteering event. Now, orienteering events usually involve people running around for a few hours with a map trying to find checkpoints. The Polaris is somewhat similar to this, but you need to add mountain bikes, and change "a few hours" to read "two days". In essence, what you're doing is cycling around somewhere with half your worldly goods on your back (unless you're doing the Summer event) trying to score points by visiting different checkpoints that are marked on your map, ranging from 10 points for a nice easy checkpoint to 50 points for something on top of an enormous hill with a challenging climb up to it.
My first (and so far only) event took place over Easter weekend. The field was somewhat smaller than usual...

Its cheap and I'm cheerful
Review of Universal Polaris Gents Dual Suspension Mountain Bike by
se1_oliver
Advantages: Very, very cheap
Disadvantages: Not as tough as other bikes.
...I thought I'd be environmentally friendly and cycle into work each day. This plan was almost scuppered when I went into the bike shops in my area; I was aghast to see that they were upwards of £300. This is more than a little out of my price range. And seeing as though I'd have to chain the thing up on the street in London, and therefore run the risk of it getting nicked, I almost decided that the environment could stuff itself.
Then Mother Earth stepped in and I came across an advert in the paper for two bikes as part of a two for one offer, with lights, helmets and locks thrown in. It cost around £140 in total, and my friend agreed to buy the other one off me. An utter bargain.
They arrived (late, their courier was terrible) in two boxes. These bikes require minimal construction such as putting on the pedals and handle bars and you...

Quads R us ~ Honda 400 EX
Review of Honda Sportrax 400EX by
me_and_my_teddybear
Advantages: Fun, Fun, Fun and very Fast
Disadvantages: none
...A couple of years ago my dad and Brother started to ride Quad Bikes. At first, they only had small slow ones to get them started. At the time hardly anywhere would allow them to ride as most track were made for Motorbikes (mx) but as Quads have become such a popular thing to have over the last few years more and more places are accepting quad riders.
Now, both my Dad and Brother are not only using their quads to ride at the weekend but are now racing them in this years Quad Race's
Here's my dad's review on the 400 EX
I have been riding with some of the world Champion Quad Racers such as Paul Winrow and John Mitchell and I am absolutely loving every minute of it. Quad racing though can be very dangerous and I myself have had a fair few accidents, resulting in me going to the Hospital but all in all Quad Racing is the best sport i...

The top sports quad of the current era!
Review of Yamaha YFZ450 by
01ict587
Advantages: Build quaility great, performance second to none.
Disadvantages: Very few - price range high for leisure applications
...This quad bike when it was released, took the ATV community by storm. The yamaha YFZ450 is the ultimate in performance quad bikes. It has taken the place of the old trx250 and become the top race/sport quad of current times for most applications.
The YFZ450 is primarily aimed at the offroad/motocross application and here its design excells. The power band of the quad is wide enough for sport/leisure use but also high enough for out of crate race winning.
The suspension and front A-Arm set up on this quad is really a top selling point, the modern design allows for the stresses and strains of jumping and riding it hard while also producing a very comfortable ride height for many green lane uses. The design of this set up provides good width for safety and cornering stability as well as handling the rougher terains that you might use...

The Legend that is the banshee
Review of Yamaha Banshee by
01ict587
Advantages: Bullet proof 2-stroke engine stands the test of time
Disadvantages: Very minor problems, such as plastics scratch a little too easy
...The Yamaha Banshee quad bike has been my favorite for many years, i currently own one and it gives me nothing but pleasure. This quad has been in production for so long but it has always been a top seller due to its unique features.
The powerplant is a liquid cooled 350cc twin cylinder engine derived from the Yamaha RD350LC road bike. It is not the greatest liquid cooled design as is basically an air cooled bottom end with liquid cooled cylinders and head stuck on top. This was to save on design costs when Yamaha first borught out a water cooled version of the original air cooled road bike engine. There are many aftermarket products to improve the cooling of your machine but unless you are modifying it for racing then i do not recommend the need for such parts. The engine characteristics are very appealing due to the revvy nature...

Not for the fainhearted
Review of Suzuki Quadsport 80 by
headgardener
Advantages: Great fun, easy to start and ride
Disadvantages: Expensive, very bulky
...Suzuki LT50 childs quad bike.
A 49cc childs quad bike, designed from 5 years to around 10, this is a 2 stroke, petrol driven 2 wheel drive, all terrain vehicle.
Supplied with removable restrictors, this bike costs around £1000 new or around £500 second-hand.
My daughter had her quad bike for Christmas 4 years ago.
We had tried for a long period before Christmas to buy an LT 50 second-hand without success, as soon as they were advertised they were sold.
As Christmas drew nearer, we were able to locate a Tractor supplier in Cornwall who was prepared to sell us new one at well below normal price.
We had priced them up in local motorcycle shops and could not believe that they were asking nearly £1300.
We inspected the bike, and could see why they were so expensive; it was a motorbike in miniature.
They are often seen for rent...
