Reviews of red fox
Foxes aren't just toys for dogs to rip apart
Review of Should fox hunting be banned in England and Wales? by
GentleGiant
Advantages: (ridding yourself of the 'pest')
Disadvantages: cruel, unjust, disgraceful, barbaric
...for life. It's appalling!
If foxes really must die, give them clean, painless deaths!
I have had experience of seeing these men head off in their red and white uniforms and when I tried to talk to them, they treated me like scum. I am very sorry if I have offended anyone. That was not my intention, but I stick by my view - these men were so rude to me, I wanted to drive after them and give them a chase they'd never forget!
Thanks for reading. Matthew...

My tongue is twisted, all tied up in knotts
Review of Fox in Socks - Dr. Seuss by
mumsymary
Advantages: a good beginner reading book
Disadvantages: ?
...Fox in socks by Dr Seuss
I can read all by myself!
Fox in socks is a beginner book aimed at young children, making reading fun.
I am sure most of you will either have read some Dr Seuss either as a child learning to read or to a child.
Dr Seuss books are fun
This book, Fox in socks is one of my favourites. Lots of rhyming words; tongue twisters about characters doing silly things children love the silliness.
The pictures are bright and bold uncomplicated. Fox bright red Knox A yellow.
Fox is playing with his friend Knox.
He tries to get Knox to say the tongue twisters. Knox fails
His tongue is not quick or slick, He gets all the ticks and clocks mixed up with the chicks and tocks.
Knox gets in a tizzy when

Which can you taste when you suck
Review of Fox's Liquorice by
tracey_angel
Advantages: Full of flavour all the time
Disadvantages: You eventually end up with an empty packet
...FOX'S LIQUORICE AND ANISEED SWEETS.
I came across this bag last week while shopping in Boyes. As I like both flavours individually, I thought that together they should taste great.
THE BAG.
The bag is a matt black colour front and back. Lets start with the front of the packet. On the top left hand corner is a red triangle with the words NEW in white. In the middle you have the Trademark Fox’s bear standing on a mint. Around the top of the bear in a semi-circle are the words ‘CLEARLY BETTER SWEETS’. Either side of the mint the bear is standing on are the words ‘WITH LIQUORICE EXTRACT. ONE DELICIOUS FLAVOUR’
In one inch uppercase lettering is the name ‘FOX’S’ followed underneath are the words ‘LIQUORICE & ANISEED’.
Now lets look at the back of the packet. With the seam in the middle, we will look at the left hand side. At the top...

Come for a walk with Rosie and me.
Review of Rosie's Walk - Pat Hutchins by
mumsymary
Advantages: good book for foundation readers
Disadvantages: none
...Rosie’s walk.
Come for a walk with me and Rosie,
Rosie is a red hen.
This children’s book is written by Pat Hutchins published in August 1971; about the time I started my career in childcare. It is available in paperback and as a board book. This book has 32 pages and is aimed at pre or very early readers.
The tale tells of Rosie chickens walk around a farmyard as a predatory fox follows her.
Rosie does not seem to notice the fox .She goes on her walk oblivious of his presence.
. Rosie walks around the pond and what happens to fox? He falls in it.
Rosie walks past a rake what happens to Mr fox? He treads on the rake and it wacks him in the face poor Mr Fox
The last scene and Rosie walks under the beehives , what happens to fox he runs away with the bees chasing him and Rosie gets home just in time for tea unaware...

hunting for animal rights
Review of Should fox hunting be banned in England and Wales? by
Sweep1
Advantages: none i can see
Disadvantages: cruel, unnecessary
...There seem to be three levels of argument used to
defend foxhunting. The first is that it isn’t cruel,
the second is that even if it is cruel, it’s
necessary and less cruel than the alternatives The
third is that even if it is cruel and unnecessary,
the right to hunt is a right of individual freedom
which must be respected. I intend to argue against
all three of these arguments.
Cruelty
Foxhunting according to its supporters is a sport
about the thrill of the chase not the kill. But many
aspects of foxhunting seem to me gratuitously cruel.
Quiet apart from the nature of the kill itself is the
fact that the dogs used in hunting are specifically
bred to be slower than foxes but to have greater
stamina – prolonging the chase and the fox’s
suffering. The use of faster dogs such as lurchers as
in hare coursing would greatly...

CONFESSIONS OF A HUNTSMAN
Review of Should fox hunting be banned in England and Wales? by
janna
Advantages: foxhunting should continue under strict licence only
Disadvantages: if foxhunting is banned, inexpert farmers will cull foxes themselves causing the wounded fox to suffer for hours if not days
...The red fox has been important in Great Britain during the last 250 years owing to its popularity as a beast of the chase. It has been classed as vermin, a small, fierce animal preying on other animals. The fox is a skilful and ruthless night hunter, sleeping by day on a bed of bracken, pine needles or grass, or below ground in the original burrow of another animal.
His cunning, speed, condition, and endurance can tax the physique and patience of his pursuers to the utmost. He is too fast to be coursed in sight, and is hunted by scent, which varies with temperature, climate and soil.
Foxhunting has survived the introduction of railways, extensive use of barbed wire and two major wars. The sport has sustained a major change; at one time it was almost the privilege of the upper (and monied) classes, it is nowadays enjoyed by farmers...

Tally Ho
Review of Fox Hunting by
CareBear
Advantages: control of the fox population
Disadvantages: a sensitive, immotive subject that is open to abuse
....
- Sustainability of the fox population:
I strongly believe that if hunts were to be banned, many farmers and landowners would take to indiscriminately killing foxes leading to a decline in the population. They would not be prepared to risk a fox being near their livestock and will instead seek to destroy that risk.
THE FUTURE?
Who knows what the future will hold for the fox hunt and the community that survives around it. It is undeniable that the hunt to date has impacted hugely on society as we know it today. Phrases such as “in the pink” derive from the hunt (a reference to the traditional description of the red colour of the jackets). Many pubs names are derived from the hunt (Snooty Fox, Fox and Hounds etc.) and even works of art and Christmas cards are wont to display hunt scenes.
I believe that hunting has suffered from a lack...
