...The red hot chili peppers are on of the biggest bands of modern times. Thier recent Record, By the Way, went multi platinum in several countries, and world tours have only been countered by the excesses of the band members taking a toll on them in the past. Having met as youths, the Red Hot Chili peppers mainstays, singer Anthony Keidis, and Bassist Michael 'Flea' Balzary, have been chili peppers over 20 years. Currently the band had the genius John Frusciante on guitar and the hard rocking Chad smith on drums. The chili peppers earlier music was punk/funk. ...For a long time now I have been a massive fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Always the music is packed full of energy, excitement, and a great lust for life. The music makes you want to get up and dance, it's positive music and the energy contained within the bands sound is always intense. When the band released the 'Stadium Arcadium' album in 2006 I spent months greatly anticipating its release. When the album finally emerged it must be said that I most certainly was not in the least bit disappointed. 'Stadium Arcadium' is the ninth studio album to have been released by the exceptional rock band that is Red Hot Chili Peppers. Twenty eight tracks make up this album and not a single one disappoints. Advantages: Good for finding out about early chili peppers, fun and funky
Disadvantages: Early chili peppers does not stand up to modern stuff

...This album is a sister album to the 'What Hits' lp, and contains B-sides and demo versions of the chili peppers early work, up to before the release of Blood Sugar Sex Magik. It contians 19 tracks, Including 4 mixes, all of which are quite well done and in most cases sufficiently different to the original to merit thier inclusion, 3 live tracks, including Jimi Hendrix's Castles made of sand, and F.U. by Thelonious Monk. Next comes Demo versions of chili's songs, which for the fan are interesting as they do in places differ from the recorded versions, and feature the original members playing. There are then 5 other 'demo's' which are little more than studio outtakes, but fun all the same. ...BloodSugarSexMagik is the Red Hot Chili Pepper's best album in my opinion. Recently voted as the best bass album in the world by recently stopped UK bassist magazine. This is justified by tracks such as Give it away, Apache Rose Peacock, and Naked in the Rain with its bass solo that far outdoes the ones on Aeroplane and Around the World, from One Hot Minute and Californication respectively. But enough about Flea's bass. The guitar work by John Frusciante has the right levels of rock and pure funk, as shown in If You Have To Ask. Chad Smith gives a great bottom layer for Flea and John's funky jamming. Finally, Anthony Kiedis' beautiful vocals bring together this brilliant mix of funk and rock. ...INGREDIENTS: 1/8 of a tin of diced tomatoes with liquid 35 g roasted red peppers 20 g diced onion 15 ml red wine 10 g brown sugar 3/8 fresh hot chile peppers, seeded and chopped 5 g tomato paste 5 ml distilled white vinegar 1 g chopped garlic 0.1 g dried oregano 0.6 g cumin seeds -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DIRECTIONS: In a large saucepan, place diced tomatoes with green chile peppers, roasted red peppers, onion, red wine, brown sugar, hot chile peppers, tomato paste, distilled white vinegar, garlic, oregano and cumin seeds Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and allow mixture to simmer approximately 30 minutes Place mixture in a blender, and blend to desired consistency. ...I received this CD as a christmas gift and since than there has not beem one day I have not listened to the amazing tracks on this album.All songs differ from one another and the mix of excellent guitar beats and meaningful lyrics fill your head with the message the Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the best bands of contemporary times.Anthony Kiedis' unique singing style and ability make this a hit album whcih will be apprecaited by evryone.Every track a memorable one you find your self either singing along to or thinking about the tune , willing to hear that excellent beat once more.A classic album , one which fans of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and new comers alike will apprecaite.From the first heavy guitar rif of Around the World until the beutifully composed acoustics of Road Trippin , the final track , you regret not buying... Advantages: A chance to see the Peppers perform some of their best songs live on stage.
Disadvantages: Some of the travel scenes can be repetitive and monotonous.

...Being a life long fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers - in all their incarnations - I assumed that this DVD would be just like the band themselves; funny, funky and fabulous. However, while I enjoyed the majority of the DVD, with the live show taking up the bulk of the playing time, I was a little disappointed by the interviews. While they all talk candidly about their experiences of playing live, life, travel and relationships, it would have been nice to see more of the Peppers together as people rather than as a band, and less of Kiedis' girlfriend draping herself all over him. The DVD includes individual interviews with each band member - Flea, Frusciante, Smith and Kiedis an extra long version of 'Sir Pyscho Sexy' and lots of on-stage banter - including Kiedis encouraging the girls to get mohawks after the show! ...Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is their best album and one of my favourite albums.The first track is good but there are better tracks.The only track that I don't like is track 8:Porcelain. The best tracks on it have to be 3:Scar Tissue, 4: O Otherside, 6:Californication, 7:Easily, 11:This velvet glove and Road Tripping (15).I'm not saying that the other songs are bad but this songs are the best.I didn't think that I would like this album because i only like about 5 of the Red Hot Chili Peppers other songs and I don't have any other of there albums.I bought the Scar Tissue single which also came with Gong Li and Instrumental which aren't on Californication.... ...I was a new comer to the music of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and had enjoyed their albums Californication and One hot Minute because of their rock type music.I bought this album expecting similar music and was surprised to say the least.The album , released in 1985 , contains a more funky style of music which although different from their other music I still enjoyed.Anthony Kiedis again has used his unique ability to make this album another classic in the chils long list.All the songs have a great beat and although some tracks are not as memorable as their more modern tunes they are still excellent to listen to.Buy this album because it is great , but dont go looking for another californication , its a totally different styley!...
