Internet Radio reception at its best
Review of Revo BLIK Radiostation by  coppinpr

Advantages: Small, works very well ,easy to use
Disadvantages: mains only (but not a real problem)

...My wife likes country music, I know I know ! but a lot of people do!! Any way there is a definate lack of music stations in the UK so I thought Id buy her an INTERNET RADIO so she could have access to her country music, To be honest I like 'pop latino' music so I thought I might get to hear a few good Latin stations as well. I started looking at the various radios available on the net and it soon became clear that more and more products are becoming available in this quite new and exciting internet spinoff. Most are small with futuristic designs and the Blik Revo radiostation caught my eye. What set it apart from the rest? well, not only is it a first rate internet radio its also one of the first DAB enabled radios using the latest DAB+ system, There is also a reasonable FM reciever built in (although after listining to the DAB... A solid, hardworking laptop at a decent price
Review of Novatech Revo Max T2350 Pro by  DerekTP

Advantages: Excellent value; flexible software; good spec
Disadvantages: Screen can be too reflective for easy viewing; palmrest gets hot

...The Novatech Revo Max T2350 Pro feels like a solid, well-built machine, and certainly more than it's bargain price. It's actually a re-badged machine from an anonymous Chinese maker, but you need to look at the labels carefully to work that out. Everything worked as expected (I can't say "out of the box" as I bought the no-operating-system version so had to install Windows myself), though on a subsequent Novatech purchase (the similar T7250 model) the DVD failed during Windows installation. But Novatech's returns process works well and promptly, with no additional costs etc. The T2350's a solid performer, the only niggles during use being the screen can be hard to see in some settings (too reflective), and it gets pretty hot! There's a "hot spot" on the front-right of the machine, where one normally rests one's right palm... Read review

Even more pocket power
Review of Psion Revo Plus by  psipple

Advantages: Powerful and fully featured
Disadvantages: No backlight

...The Revo Plus builds on Psion's successful Revo machine by doublng the memory (from 8MB to 18MB) and by supplying a few extra goodies on the PsiWin CD that accompanies the machine. The software on the machine itself hasn't changed much since the Revo, and as there wasn't much wrong with it, this decsion seems to make sense. The Revo is a well spec'ed little machine capable of doing far more than just diary and address book stuff, such as word process (with a diuctionary and thesaurus), spreadsheet (with graphs), manage your mobile phone SIM card, access POP3 email, send SMS text messages via your mobile, and surf web and WAP sites. As with other Psions, the Revo Plus comes with PC software to allow backups, conversion to PC formats (such as Office) and synchronisation of agenda and contacts information. One of the two additional... Read review

Psion Revo is the best compromise
Review of Psion Revo by  darkteckno

Advantages: Keyboard
Disadvantages: Price

...The Psion Revo has proved itself to have just about everything I need to get organised. I work from home and from 3 other company's offices and now I hardly use MS Outlook any more! The Revo is easy to use with its tidy keyboard and touch sensitive screen, has a great search facility for contacts or diary items, and lasts for at least a week between battery charges. To achieve a perfect score, it could be (even) lighter, it could do with a volume control for the alarms, and it would be handy to have a built in modem - although I am waiting for the Nokia 7110E to drop in price so I can connect via GSM. All in all - a great piece of kit!... Read review

Revo 16MB
Review of Psion Revo by  ShaunK

Advantages: Small, feature packed, convenient
Disadvantages: Needs a back light

...The Psion Revo 16MB is an amazingly versatile and usable hand held computing device. It runs most of the software that is available for the series 5 Psions, so there is absolutely loads of shareware and freeware, as well as commercial software available. In use, although the key board is small it is very easy to type on. The screen is pretty good given the size of the unit, and is very clear and sharp. Pity it doesn't have a back light like the 5's, but I suppose that this would have been just too much for the built in rechargeable batteries. Battery life is quite good - I managed a week of occasional use without a recharge. The Revo links well with a PC allowing back up of data, installation of software and synchronisation of appointments with ease. The built in software is pretty good too. E mail via infra red enabled mobile phone... Read review

Slim, sexy, and under £400
Review of Psion Revo by  jimjamyaha

Advantages: Relatively cheap, sexy, handy
Disadvantages: Iffy Keyboard, difficult to upgrade

...Psion Revo I can't honestly claim to have WANTED a Revo, because I got it for Christmas: but now I have one I might as well share it with everyone. The Revo is Psion's latest mobile PC offering, and having such a respected company behind it should definately serve as an encouragement to buy. The Revo is basically a stripped-down and updated version of their Series 5MX system, with emphasis on the "communication centre" aspects. As such, it comes pre-loaded with all the software to connect it via Infra-red to a Mobile phone. Once connected it allows you to compose Email, manage your phone's memory, or surf the internet (a new program must be installed to do this, but it is supplied free with the Revo) Those au fait with the 5MX series will notice many changes: firstly the Revo is smaller and lighter, in a "techno-sexy" shade... Corniche leather case. Protect your Revo in style
Review of Psion Revo Plus by  MikeWhalley

Advantages: Leather, better looking than a plastic case, snug fit and reasonably cheap
Disadvantages: Offers only slight protection when dropped.

...As you could probably tell by my opinion that I wrote about the Revo Plus, I was very impressed by it overall. But one thing I wasn't too sure about was it's sturdyness. As I had dropped my Revo on numerous occations (I know, very silly of me!), I decided to hunt for something to help prevent me from putting a huge crack down the centre of it once and for all. So I searched high and low on the internet, only to find some hard plastic Psion cases. I wasn't too impressed, as they were around £20 at the time. So I'm sorry to say this, but I decided to pop down to my local PC World - and was plesantly surprised. What they had there, apart from the plastic hard cases (and I don't mean the students working there), was a Corniche black leather case. This was more like it. It has a slight bit of padding, but obviously offering nowhere near... Read review

Revo
Review of Psion Revo - EPOC32 5 - ARM710T 36 MHz - RAM: 8 MB - ROM: 8 MB ( 480 x 160 ) by  ShaunK

Advantages: Small, light, many features
Disadvantages: Memory could be better

...The Psion Revo 8MB version is small, light and feature packed. I bought the machine primarily to access e mail using a mobile phone. It does this absolutely flawlessly with my freeserve account and my Motorola Timeport mobile phone. The in built software is extremely good, and there are dozens of shareware and freeware titles which can be added as well. Memory could be a bit better (and Psion have now released a 16MB version of the machine), but it is still an excellent palm top computer. Try one and you'll be smitten!... Read review

Psion Revo
Review of Psion Revo - EPOC32 5 - ARM710T 36 MHz - RAM: 8 MB - ROM: 8 MB ( 480 x 160 ) by  AdmMcD

Advantages: Small, long life, lightweight, touchscreen, software
Disadvantages: very small keyboard, almost too small, expensive when used with a mobile

...I ahve had the Revo for over a year now, and it is in use all the time - it reminds me of meetings, work, it keeps a list of contacts, and has some great games that I downloaded from the Internet for when I'm really bored. I do not use the internet function much though - it is reasonably expensive. I find it useful just as an organiser, but also as a mini computer, that allows you to type up letters, make spreadsheets (which are useful for me), even when I'm nowhere near home. It has a relatively good battery life if it is not kept on all the time, and I think that it is great value for money - I can say that I would, have forgotten a lot of things were it not for my Revo.... How not to get Palmed off, buy a Revo
Review of Psion Revo by  alexslater

Advantages: Excellent functionality, durability
Disadvantages: Size/weight

...I’ve owned a Revo now for around 6 months and have found it to be invaluable, even if I will admit I originally purchased it as a nice-to-have gadget. The unit is durable and has stood up well to some fairly arduous treatment, and still looks (as one would expect) good as new. The main decision, as I see it, when choosing a PDA at the moment is what exactly you will use it for. I like the 3Com Palm VX very much, and strongly considered buying one when I purchased the Revo. What made my mind up were the onboard applications that come with the Revo (Microsoft compatible spreadsheet and word processor for a start). This, allied to it’s very passable keyboard led me to choose the Psion, as it allows me to work whilst on the move - even allowing me to check my emails when allied to my (Ericsson T28) mobile phone. The Palm VX, with it... Read review
