Good Enough
Review of KTM - KTM by  allie_14

Advantages: fast, scrambler, good for racing
Disadvantages: It is quite pricy + needs taking care of.

...A KTM is genrally a good bike all round, although it really depends on what you really need, and want! When I got my KTM I thought that it was a great bike all round. 1 little problem though, it wasn't a road bike! If you are looking for a road bike, then a Fireblade is an exellent choice to make. Anyway, the performance of the KTM is very good, as long as it is taken care of. If this bike gets absolutly no attention at all, then it won't run very smoothly and may not fulfill your requirements. an exellent choice either way, i praise any1 who buys this bike.... Do you NEED that mountain bike?
Review of Marin San Rafael City Bike by  carltonf

Advantages: VFM, Light, good components, nice seating position
Disadvantages: Not a mountain bike

...I already owned an ageing Raleigh racing bike, and I always felt that I would enjoy cycling more if I was not battling against the bike so much. So this year, I bought myself a San Rafael City Bike, by Marin. I am suprised to see that Marin were not already in the ciao headings. I don't know a great deal about bikes, but I know enough to know I like this bike! It has front suspension, and a mountain bike look, but with nice road tyres. It is lovely and light, and has excellent push/pull gear changers - bit like my old grifter! I like the upright seating position. I am using the bike to go to work, and leisure cycling at the weekends. I wont be doing much off roading, but I know I could go off-road if necessary. Not mountain climbing, but honestly - how many people with mountain bikes actually use them for that purpose... Read review

Smooth as silk
Review of GT XCR 3000 I Drive by  cabletow

Advantages: tough yet smooth
Disadvantages: a horrible yellow

...The best in sprung mtbs, The I drive is so smooth and the bike is so silky that this bike is a pleasure to ride anywhere. The research I did into this bike before buying it warned of problems with mud in the I drive system, my friends told me this was a bike designed for california and not Suffolk. I bought it any way. I have covered 3000 miles trough Suffolk mud and on roads. It has never let me down and is quite the smoothest bike I have ever ridden. Tough yes. Durable seems to be so far. A great all rounder both uphill and down. It is downhill that this bike really shines it has control and the judy shocks really do keep the front in line but through it all the I drive really keeps the drive on the ground and it really is a competitive machine. Well worth a try and well worth the money.... Read review

Excellent bike
Review of Giant Boulder Trail by  kingpin_penguin

Advantages: Price, quality of components
Disadvantages: Softer seat may help!

...I chose this bike after months of searching and i havnt regretted buying it. I wanted a bike which i could afford which also gave me the quality of bikes in a higher price range and this ticked both boxes. It rides well, smooth gear changes, excellent brakes and no fault yet. I fitted my whels with gel-filled innertubes and except for a few mishaps (not the bikes fault) it has run smoother still. I have ridden it on rode, where it glides along, and off-road, where it can take quite a bit. The only trouble with this being a mountain bike is the fact it is a hard-tail, meaning no back suspention. If you want anything serious out of this bike a new seat would benefit you as it can get tough off-road. Overall the bike is strong, sturdy frame, slick gears though may shake your backside around a bit! But it is a hardtail afterall!... Read review

Smooth
Review of GT XCR 4000 I Drive by  cabletow

Advantages: smooth and tough
Disadvantages: £600

...The xcr 4000 I drive is the smoothest fully suspended MTB I have ever had the good fortune to ride. It is the I drive system that gives this bike a long travel suspension ride that moves well and is clever enough not to sap any of your forward energy as you ride. I have used this bike on road and off road in both the dry and wet and the I drive has never let me down. The price you pay includes shimano deore chainset and shift. judy front shocks and vanilla fox rear. The package is strong yet light and is therefore excellent value. The balance of the bike is spot on. It is the comfort of the bike that will sell it to most. If you only have £600 to spend on a mountain Bike then this is the best value you will find.... Suzuki Gn125
Review of Suzuki GN 125 by  Andy1750

Advantages: fuel economy, price
Disadvantages: corrosion, depreciation, acceleration, top speed

...- especially if you are going uphill. That being said however I am quite a big bloke (16 stone) so performance may be a bit better for a more average sized rider. The bike can comfortably travel along at 55mph on level ground. I have on occasion managed to get the bike up to 70mph. This is definitely a town bike though and there's no way that I would ride it on a fast A-road or motorway. Fuel economy is fantastic. Bike only holds about £6 of petrol, but that is sufficient for about 100 miles of city riding. Have had a few problems with the bike. The main problem is corrosion. Admitedly I store the bike outside. However the bike has developed some really nasty rusty patches - especially on the front forks. The battery is also poor and it can be a real struggle to get the bike to start if it's been left for more than a couple of weeks... Read review

Carrera Banshee full suspension MTB
Review of Carrera Banshee by  dingoo

Advantages: Everything, build, price, quality, aftercare, look of bike
Disadvantages: none

...I purchased my Carrera Banshee from Halfords on-line, the bike was priced at WAS £579.99 but being a bike coming to be replaced you can save £145.00. When I ordered mine there was a further 10% of online orders so I ended up with a brilliant bike worth £579.99 for £365.00. Although I was sent a 19 inch bike instead of the 20 inch I ordered apparently this is a mistake on the website. So if you order there is no actual difference being a suspension bike. Bike specs: - The bike frame is all mountain 6" travel bar linkage 19" aluminium frame With robust Suntour Epicon 140mm travel fork with lock out. This lockout system is a must if you need to go on roads as well as off road; this is due to the bouncing in the lock position for off road. You need the bike to act as a hard tail on roads as it can be quite a handful if the suspension... Read review

Great Value for your money
Review of Eureka Whirlwind Litespeed 5740 Upright Vacuum by  Uncle_Tippet

Advantages: Great suction. Reasonable price. HEPA filter works
Disadvantages: Cleaning filters. Using hand tools.

...When I was looking through my Gold box offers on Amazon.com, they offered the Litespeed vacuum cleaner for $67. That seemed like a pretty good deal for a "bagless" vacuum cleaner and so I bought it on a whim because I was tired of constantly unclogging my current Eureka upright. Boy, what a difference a vacuum cleaner makes. First, the basics. The Litespeed is an upright and works on both carpets and bare floors. It has 12 amps of power and does not use a bag. Instead, it has a large cup that you empty out and two filters. One of the filters requires regular cleaning and the other (a HEPA filter to prevent dust from recycling back into the room) requires replacement every 6 months. The hose unhooks from the base for hand cleaning and it comes with your standard tools (a small handheld brush, extension wand and crevice tool for small... Read review

Gilera DNA 50
Review of Aprilia Gilera DNA 50cc by  Diceof2

Advantages: Speed, Reliability, Appearance, Value
Disadvantages: Small Petrol Tank,

...Hi, This is my first review so contructive critisism is appriciated. I Apologise for any grammer mistakes. Price... I bourght a Gilera DNA 50 Brand new, from a local Motorcycle Shop for a Tidy £1700. My insurance was £120 Fully Comprehensive Along with my Tax at only £15. Total = £1835 Overall, This bike takes a Staggering 9/10 for Value Once On The Road..... The bike Struck up 1st time on both the electric start and the kick start. I decided to take the bike home through a few narrow windy roads and then onto a main road. The ride was perfect. Never have i felt such smooth performance even on Gravelly Surfaces. Going in and out of corners was also a joy. The bike is only small but handled my weight along with the bikes lean very easily, showing no signs of slowing down. The bike is VERY easy to ride, Perfect for a first time... Read review

Bikes otr cars dangerous???
Review of Motorbikes - General by  flossy

Advantages: better looking, cheaper to run/buy, better for the environment
Disadvantages: bad car drivers

...I am sick to the back teeth of people telling me how dangerous bikes are such a vast majority of accidents are caused by irresponsible car drivers. I have so nearly been splattered by a van because the driver was too busy on a mobile to notice that I was around and then he had the nerve to give me abuse. A friend of mine was riding down a road and a car pulled out in front of him and the bike ending up under the car and he ended up skidding down the road on his side. The car driver didnt even know what he had done under he was stopped by another motorist. In my opinion every car driver should be taken out on a bike so they can see a bike point of view and the maybe, just maybe, it will make them think a little bit more. Bikes are cheaper to buy, cheaper to run, dont cause traffic jams and are less damaging to the environment. So you... Read review
