A chance to Cher my opinion
Review of Heart Of Stone - Cher by
runrig2
Advantages: Her best album
Disadvantages: I don't feel there are any
...Cherilyn Sarkisian LaPierre better known as Cher, is an actress and singer/song writer who started her career in 1965, in a duo called Sonny and Cher. Since then her vast repertoire of successes are most impressive. She is the richest female artist of all time, but that's not surprising considering her numerous successful movies and music albums.

Campy and Fabulous Cher
Review of If I Could Turn Back Time (Greatest Hits) - Cher by
OKkaraoke
Advantages: power pop at its finest
Disadvantages: That Peter Cetera duet. yikes!
..."David is not homophobic, although he has expressed occasional mystification at gay culture and practices (it's the Cher thing that particularly bewilders him)..." -Nick Hornby from How to Be Good
I re-discovered my love for my Cher thanks to my best friend, Ethan. We listened to this album in his car on the way home from university and laughed and sang along.
Cher's Greatest Hits (1999) is organized in reverse chronological order, starting with a new single and ending with the song that made her famous way back in 1965, "I've Got You Babe," the duet with then-husband Sonny Bono. It features 17 intense tracks, most of which are powerful, dramatic pop. Cher is a pop goddess and she knows it. You will find yourself singing along in your best Cher-esque deep voice.
Cher is a parody of herself. She wears outrageous outfits and wigs...

Cher's Greatest Hits...again
Review of Very Best Of Cher, The - Cher by
bilbob20
Advantages: Most of the 80's/90's stuff is really rather good in hindsight
Disadvantages: She took that vocodered stuff too far, and there's no new songs on it
...To accompany her neverending farewell tour (come on Cher, just say cheerio and be done with it), in 2003 Cher released another of her Greatest Hits collections. The tracklisting rarely varies on her collections, but you cant blame an old bird for trying when she really cant be bothered to go into the recording studio anymore. And her recent brand of vocoder-ed pop lead the way for the modern pop sound, so after 40 years of recording, perhaps she's entitled to milk her back catalogue.
Cher starts near the end and works her way back, well sort of. She misses a few stumbling blocks along the way, but the cream of the crop is all present and correct.
Believe
---------
As her biggest selling single, its only right that Believe should open the album and set the stall. With a smashing dance beat and an electro-voiced Cher belting out a sing...

The Voice Of Everyone's Generation
Review of Very Best Of Cher, The - Cher by
Mattroberts
Advantages: See Review
Disadvantages: See Review
...and thieves
But every night all the men would come around
And lay their money down.”
Cher managed to knock off the label of “Sonny’s gal” and did it on her own. That’s why, to me, its such a great track on the album – because it’s Cher’s first taste of freedom. Plus it’s simply a wonderful tune.
Cher’s second number 1 single in the 70’s (1973 to be exact) was “Half Breed”. A very different song, and more Rock than Pop in a way – very different to Cher’s other songs before that. I think “Half Breed” was an important song in her career, because it showed she could – and still can – do so many different tunes, and can succeed in any. “Half Breed” is a song full of hate and anger, and Cher expresses that clearly...

too many face lifts!!!!
Review of Cher - Cher by
hobnob
Advantages: none
Disadvantages: everything!!1
...Cher is the type of pop star that has made her money-now, clear off and invite some more young people in. As an over-50-year-old, Cher should be starting to unwind and say goodbye to the pop world. Although we have not heard from her lately, she is bound to make a come-back in music. Many people think she is in her 30's but believe me, she is 52 years old!! Cher has had dozens of face lifts-her face looks as if it's all about to collapse!!! Her face looks too tight and she definitley needs to give it a break. I do not like her songs that much. She puts too much electronic stuff into them and when she is miming a song, it looks obvious she is not singing.
One thing is for sure, I would love to say 'bye bye' Cher!!!...

If you want to laugh or make your girl laugh!
Review of Clueless (Wide Screen) by
silvajade
Advantages: Makes you laugh no matter WHAT type of mood you're in, takes the mick out of shallow girls.
Disadvantages: ???? I can't think of any- oh I don't have a copy!!!!
...Clueless is definitely not a film that takes itself too seriously. With bright colourful visuals alongside a happy, girly rock soundtrack (including No Doubt’s Just a Girl)-it really is such a feel good film.
If you are in a bad mood, just stick this on and you can’t fail to have a smile on your face by the end of it! Clueless is THE teen film out there, made 10 years ago has since been emulated.
The film is about a fifteen year old girl who lives the perfect life. Cher Horrowitz has Beverly Hills mansion, the designer wardrobe and the convertible jeep. With ALL these luxuries what more could she possible want?
Cher acts as the film’s narrator, with dizzy and hilarious interior monologues giving us insights into Cher’s unique view of teenage life.
The film illustrates the arrogance people can have due to materialistic values...

Reload, Result!
Review of Reload - Tom Jones by
AliB
Advantages: Good mix of artists and styles
Disadvantages: Not enough songs!!
...This is a fantastic album, Tom has never lost his appeal or that superb voice. I love the old stuff and the new stuff, and I'm glad he hasn't been tempted by cheesy dance mixes as other 'older' artists have been (eg. Cher, with awful results!). There are some brilliant covers on here, with a perfect choice of partner. One of my favourites is Never Tear us Apart with Natalie Imbruglia, a brilliant cover of a brilliant song. And there is a mixture of influences and genres, rock, pop, ballad. Keep it up Tom. (At least until I see him in the CIA at Christmas!!)
And my being Welsh has nothing to do with this review!!...

Cher's way to fitness
Review of Cher Fitness A New Attitude DVD by
hewks
Advantages: Really works,fun to do
Disadvantages: Hard to get on DVD
...and safe pace for you. It explains how to do this with a countdown in the corner and also a scale so you can check you own, they have made it really simple to use! The cool down period lasts about 3 maybe 4 minutes and is nice and relaxing, it does relax your muscles...and you will need it. You will need a towel and a cold drink as you're doing this workout. Cher talks all the way through, don't get me wrong she isn't irritating at all infact you find yourself laughing at her, she's really upbeat and funny. The music's great, though very eighties I guess you could say, there's a lot of cher's own songs in their ( well there would be!), along with some other mostly rock tunes. They also make mistakes that have NOT been edited out, they laugh at each other and it feels very life like, I found this really refreshing, you almost feel part of a class...

'Living Proof' that Cher Will Never Die
Review of Living Proof - Cher by
OKkaraoke
Advantages: "When the Money's Gone" and a couple others, danceable
Disadvantages: rather bland; slower songs are lame
...Legendary diva Cher first landed on the pop charts in 1965, but despite allegations that she could survive a nuclear apocalypse, the plastic fantastic one claims to be calling it quits after her current tour comes to an end. I don’t think that day will ever come. I can see Cher settling down in a Las Vegas coliseum with the likes of Celine Dion and Elton John. She won’t be hanging up her wigs anytime soon. I’d put money on it.
Although Cher can still put on a fantastic live show, her latest album, Living Proof is mediocre at best. There are only three or four songs on the album that stand out, and the rest are bland and forgettable.
More than her previous albums, 'Living Proof' makes an attempt to be serious. In the liner notes, Cher even dedicates the LP to 'the courageous people of New York, especially the firefighters, police...

Hellraiser
Review of Bat Out Of Hell [Remastered] - Meat Loaf by
fiisch
Advantages: Great songs, powerful voice
Disadvantages: Not extremely well known
...Meatloaf in full swing is a formidable prospect. His talent is undeniable even if he doesn't play music to my tastes. I can still appreciate his work and I do enjoy a few songs of his. He is not very well recognised in "The Business"(!), especially considering his talent. He is an unsung hero of rock, although he does have the MONEY to prove this. He is a typical American, loud, aggressive and heavily built but it all adds to his image. Not many people have heard of him in comparision with his achievements, and even less people have heard of his real name, myself included!
For me, he seems the Cher in the Rock world but unlike Cher, Meatloaf is not recognised for his work....
