Great fun, great value
Review of Saab 9-5 2.0t Estate by
dhaverty
Advantages: Performance, quality, great seats, value for money
Disadvantages: Not up to BMW standards of ride, handling and refinement
...I had never owned a Saab, and intended buying a BMW 5-Series when I swapped my car (from a Merc E300D) in March 2000. What changed my mind? I decided to buy abroad and found I could get much better discounts with much shorter lead times on Saabs than BMWs (or Mercs or Audis).
I saved £8,500 on the best price my local dealer would give me for a 9-5 Aero Estate and the car was ready in 6 weeks. Check out the price of options - some, notably heated seats, are only a fraction of UK prices.
Discounts are more readily available in the UK now, but you can still save a good few thousand pounds by buying in Sweden....

A great car - seriously recommended
Review of Saab 9-5 Aero 2.3 HOT 4dr by
KieranBal
Advantages: Extremely comfortable, with generous amounts of leg-room in both front and back of car.
Disadvantages: The exterior styling may not be to everyones taste.
...The Saab 9-5 2.3t HOT Aero is a great car. I have loved owning this car as it is fun and easy to drive. The bucket style seats are extremely comfortable for long distace journeys. It has huge amounts of space in the boot, which for me was perfect, as both of my children are band members, and so large amounts of space are required to shift their equipment to and from gigs (2 guitars, large amplifier, keyboard, large effects pedal, and other accesories). The car interior is crisp, simple and stylish, however there is not much space for interior storage, such as door pockets, cup holders, glove compartment etc., as most of the space is given up to passenger leg-room. For a large saloon car with a fairly large engine, it has a reasonable efficiency (30-35 miles per gallon), and what with the current fuel prices, that may be a serious...

Saab cars - A lot of history
Review of Everything that starts with S ... by
Timbo3107
Advantages: Told me things I did not know
Disadvantages: It may be biased towards Saab
...a turbo really is? I think it's odd that all engines don't have one!"
8. Saab staged what is probably the world's highest car launch when it presented the Saab 9-5 Aero Wagon in 2000. At an airstrip near a New Mexico ski resort in the United States, 2,650 meters (8,700 ft) up in the Rockies, journalists were invited to carry out acceleration runs with the new Saab and other high-powered cars from premium class competitors. The results demonstrated how Saab Trionic engine management was able to maintain the turbo engine's performance, despite the thinner air of high altitude, while the other cars that were left behind.
9. In 1966, to keep the arrival of the upcoming Saab 99 secret, endurance testing of prototypes was carried out inside an old aircraft hangar. Non-stop runs were conducted as the prototypes circled round and round for several...

Long term user review of the Saab 9-3 Aero.
Review of Saab 9-3 Aero 2.0T 4dr by
myoffer1
Advantages: Safe, fast, comfortable, and very beautiful.
Disadvantages: A bit expensive
...When I got to the store to pick my (well, my company car then..) brand new Saab 9-3 Aero (210hp) back in -04 I was very happy.
I had taken a few months of reviewing several cars and brands before I decided to go for the Saab 9-3.
Basically the choice where made on the looks of the car itself, the price compared to similar cars from other brands, safety and comfort since I spent all my time on the roads back then and the feeling of driving it. Actually, come to think of it, this was the most important of them all.
I'm jumping straight to the interior of the car since everyone that has seen one knows they simply are beautiful :)
During the two years I spent in this car I drove approximately three laps around the earth which means that I had to sit comfortably. The seats in the car are real nice. You get the sporty feeling of them...

Review of Saab 9-3 SportWagon Aero 2.8T 5dr by

...Bye bye espresso black aero 2.0T and HELLO new Aero Sportwagon in Fusion Blue which is the launch colour, For those who don't know what a launch colour is its the colour the advertising of the vehicle is on t.v and in the books. The Look of Deception - Exclusively Revealed
Review of Saab 9-5 2.3T by
aljones
Advantages: Stunning power, great handling, well built
Disadvantages: Still looks like a big, sluggish car
...the controls seemed solid and responded well. They were all laid out quite logically, and were all easily reachable without fumbling about. The 9-5 Aero that I drove had a host of extra features that would not be found on every model, including leather seats, steering wheel, etc.
But the Saabs true merit has to lie solely in its performance. The figures speak for themselves really. It does 0 to 60mph in 6.5 seconds, and is good for almost 150mph. This is all due to the 2.3 litre turbo charges engine. All Saabs have turbo charged petrol engines, and so Saab have become very good at this. Most turbo charged cars, such as the Mondeo ST200 and Subaru Impreza, have 'turbo-lag', where it takes a while for the turbo to kick in, and when it does, it hits with a bang. However, with the 9-5 Aero, the turbo is instantaneous, and you wouldn't even know...

Sweden's little secret
Review of Saab 9-3 2.2 TiD by
Solex
Advantages: Practical, comfortable and well equipped
Disadvantages: About to be ousted by new model
.... The tradmark Saab grille domintes the front end and then leads into a stubby rear end, which can get an optional spoiler.
INTERIOR AND COMFORT
Slide inside the 9-3 and people familiar with Saab's will recognise the rather quirky facia. The big plastic 'slab' is now rather dated, however distinctive it is. The air-craft style switches - thanks to Saab's aero experiance - are like nothing in the class and each are very good quality and passes the 'Solex knock-knock test'. Comfort too is first rate. Stepping from the VW Passat we have at the moment and into the 9-3 and the differences are obvious. Whether it's the optional leather that was equipped or, not, I was nothing but comfortable.
