...There are lots of big shiny books out there that tell you all about digital photography and while many of these are great books, they can be a little intimidating too. Scott Kelby, author of many of the better photography boooks out there has now come up with the antidote. The Digital Photography Book is a mere 200 odd pages and is just slightly bigger than A5 in size yet contains a whole lot of useful information that will almost certainly improve anyone's photography. I was initially wondering quite what Scott Kelby had been smoking as the first few pages were somewhat surreal. Even the author noted they included lame (his word, not mine) humour. ...Unfortunately utility player Richard Scott is on the verge of quitting London Road. Posh boss, Barry Fry has offered 26-year-old Scott a new contract, but the player and his agent feel he can get a better deal elsewhere, now that he is available to leave Posh under the Bosman ruling for no fee. Scott has been dogged by injuries this season and needed to prove his fitness to Posh boss Barry Fry to be awarded the offer of a new contract, which Fry has done. They move base to England, Scott Engel becomes Scott Walker and the legend begins. How do you define the importance and beauty of the music created by Scott Walker and the Walker Brothers in a few paragraphs? It's almost impossible. To begin with it was Scott Walker and The Walker Brothers. Between 1965 and 1967 they were responsible for some of the classic moments in pop. Think 'Make It Easy On Yourself' with it's sweeping orchestration and Scott's velvety smooth, impossibly beautiful vocals. It's a stunning song that is instantly recognizable. .... Having gone through the marriage, Dre and Reese begin to settle into married life while Sidney remains single. Not for long however as Sidney soon finds a man of her own in basketball star Kelby (Boris Kodjoe), and after a couple of months together at a party where everyone is present, Kelby proposes to an unsuspecting Sidney which to Dre's obvious horror she accepts. Right from the offset the film is given a 'Will they/Wont they' theme which carries through right to the end. The ending to the film is clichéd and expected, however there are a few twists along the way and a good script means that despite the clichéd and rather obvious ending, Brown Sugar remains to be a decent offering and a film that is well worth watching at least once. ...Scott Adam's insight and anicdotes from the world of corporate stupidity never fails to raise a smile... then a chuckle ... A laugh ... and on till your gut aches. Mainly because we ALL know someone, some petty minded, jobsworth little manager (with or without pointy hair) or some short balding workshy individual who would actually be good at his job if only he'd use half the effort that he puts into making up excusses to skive. If this is the only Scott Adams you are going to buy, go right ahead, you won't regret it. However, if you already have a few, be prepared for a small amount of disapointment. A reasonable proportion of the cartoons and the anicdotes, you have seen before. ...My first experience of Scott Mills was when I was working part-time at Homebase a couple of years ago. The in-store radio station, Homebase FM (natch) would be punctuated with things suchs as "Hi! I'm Scott Mills, this week at Homebase we have a nice ladder," or whatever. Then I heard he was filling in for then-Radio One brekkie presenter Zoe Ball, and thought how awful it would be. But when I tuned in, I was happy to find Scott to be a damn good DJ. What's best about him is his quick-witted humour, and the way he gets away with near-the-knuckle humour. Inexplicably though, the BBC continue to schedule the guy in the middle of the bloomin' night in the "early breakfast" show. Anyone eating brekkers at that time of the morning seriously needs their head looked with a hatchet, as do the Radio One suits if they don't give Scott Mills... Read review

...The first of 3 movies The Santa Clause sees business man and father Scott Calvin trying to cope with not only his ex-wife and her new husband but also his young son Charlie who has come to stay over at his home for Christmas. Scott is not very family minded, staying late at a works party rather then arrive home in time for his son to be dropped off. Things are looking bad for Charlie's Christmas with his dad when Scott burns their dinner and they end up having lunch in a diner, later that evening Scott reads Charlie a bed time story before settling him down for the night. However a noise on the roof wakes the young boy and Scott goes outside to investigate, when Scott disturbs the man on the roof he sets in motion a series of events that will change his life forever. Scott wanted to get at the heart of the idea of the Gothic enterprise as a whole - a trained sociologist, Scott knew that the bigger picture is sometimes lost by too narrow a focus on particular details to the exclusion of others. The sociology background also gave Scott a sense of wanting to understand the hearts and minds of the people involved. ...Jill scotts new album follows on from her "who is jill scott" album if you ask me. There are 15 tracks on this "the real thing" and the best ones are as follows: Track - Breathe (great lyrical skills) Track -The real thing (rockesque very much like en-vogue) Track -Come see me (is a stand out track on this album, very soft silky ballad) Track - Crown royal (is a melodic earfest, however this seems like an interlude as it is too short). Track Epiphany (is something on another level, its a sexual track but doesnt use vulgar language, you will have to be of a mature sexual nature to really get what was being expressed, just very intelligent) Track - my love (is very similar to a track on the "who is jill" album but nevertheless still soothing) Track - celibacy blues ( is just that, a blues track about celibacy but sung by the queen... ...Introduction Ballroom dancing isn't really something that I particularly enjoy watching, although I have to admit I quite enjoyed some of Strictly Come Dancing. When this film first came out, I wasn't really interested in it, but was forced to go and see it by a friend. Sometimes I think the best films are those that you aren't really expecting much of; certainly, I really enjoyed this film and have seen it time and time again. The director Baz Lurhmann, the director, grew up in rural Australia, and at one point worked at a petrol station. He later used examples of the interesting people that he met in his films. His most famous film to date is Moulin Rouge. The plot Scott is a ballroom dancer with a difference: he doesn't want to conform to the set steps, but wants to make up his own steps.
