Advantages: Magical, inspirational and uplifting
Disadvantages: none really; though too many seagulls for some people's taste

Advantages: Good price for sound, playability and workmanship.
Disadvantages: Frightened of dropping it!

...The wife and I decided it was time to replace our old £25 nylon strung guitar. We both wanted a 12 string guitar but on a budget. We trecked to the music shop and tried a couple in our price range (cheap!), we then tried the Seagull for camparison and fell in love. Not being able to afford the £369 price tag, we began to feel dejected, then up popped the salesman with all the info on interest- free-credit, we left with the Seagull and a Yamaha 6 string. This Canadian made guitar is constructed of solid wood - cedar for the body and hard woods for the neck and fretboard. The workmanship is outstanding, a lot of care has been put into this guitar and the action is very low making it easy to play (no forearms like popeye's needed here). The sound quality for the price range (the high end of the budget guitars) has to be heard... Read review

...Jonathan Livingston Seagull is simultaneously simple and profound. Only 90 - odd pages long, yet Bach has managed to create a powerful message. He opens up doors to his readers, which they are able to walk through long after they have finished reading. This book is about life and wonderment, questions and revelations, curiosity and stiving for knowledge. Also important to the overall 'atmosphere' is the question of physical and imaginary barriers...philosophy which everyone can (if they are willing) apply to their own lives. Bach is successful in making each one of his readers feel as though he has written this especially for THEM, the individual. J L Seagull is a bird who does not fit in with the rest of his flock. He breaks the mould and is shunned for his alternativism...which ultimately drives him to discover the secret... Read review

Advantages: a classic
Disadvantages: I really can't stand swooping birds now!

...If you have not seen the film and don't think a bunch of seagulls and sparrows can hold you in suspense, think again. The great thing about a Hitchcock movie is that you always know you are about to enter a world where everything is just not quite right. This 'world' usually involves an innocent man wrongly accused and eventually on the run. The world of 'The Birds' has none of this. Nature has run amok and the characters, will and do go through a truly terrifying experience. The film surprisingly benefits from a lack of music, I think adding to the suspense of it all. The bird attacks are in colour too, and the one scene showing a victim of the birds is quite shocking, even for these days. Something I think 'pyscho' could have done with. OK, so some of the birds were props and others even hand-drawn, but it still scared me, maybe... Read review

...Neil Diamond’s Music is timeless and completely original. Jonathan Livingston Seagull Is an incredible piece of work. I have not seen the film that this soundtrack belongs to, as I was very young then. My Father loved Neil Diamond and I grew up listening to his music. I am grateful to my father for his excellent taste. You can never be too young to listen to this. I am a person who enjoys Rock, Reggae and was a teenager in the eighties and loved that music but I have never pulled my nose up at Brilliant music no matter how old it may be. If you haven’t done so yet, take the time to listen to this, you’ll wonder why you never did it before. This CD is very relaxing and soothing and at the same time very deep and powerful. ...Many people have tried to portray teenagers in the past but most have failed, Although beavis and butthead does not represent teenagers totally acurately they are dam funny in trying. There are many funny characters in beavis and butthead including the hippy teacher who sings about lesbian seagulls and the girl next door who they would both like a bit of. These 2 boys also have a great taste in music which makes for a ace soundtrack. This is one of the classics from mtv so if youve got a sense of humour and are not offended too easily then this programs for you!... Read review

...Jonathan Livingston is a Seagull. But he isn't an ordinary seagull. No, Jonathan is a seagull who enjoys the fact that the Great Gull gave them wings. Unlike the rest of his flock, he isn't satisfied with the daily hunt for food and need to fit in with its own societal rules. JLS enjoys his flying. He wants to push the parameters. Each day he tries to fly faster. Climbing higher and diving ever more steeper and faster. Trying to take that one step further. Just a little but more. His lack of need to be with his peers sets him apart. Not purposely but he is different. He doesn't want to be different but in order to be the same, he'd have to cast away his inner dreams and desires. His flock detest and feel fearful of his difference and cast him out. Still he continues until one day, he is taken into a different place...... And so... Read review

...that in the future, humans can look forward to a lifetime of fond reminiscing towards badgers, while millions of flies bang incessantly against the dining-room window. For the sake of the list, flies weren't included, because the RSPCA thinks them "too obvious" a choice. Here, though, are the three animals who don't seem to be dying out, no matter what we do to their homes. 1: The Seagull Once upon a time, the only place anyone would find seagulls would be, somewhat predictably, in areas close to the sea. Recently though the winged creatures have begun moving inwards, finding that the food humans drop on the streets is highly delicious (especially Subways sandwiches, which they treasure highly) and that the warmth offered by the streets is rather lovely, actually.
