Brirtax First Class SI
Review of Britax First Class by
Nige7Whit
Advantages: Easy strapping in (the kids), and easy fitment (to the car)
Disadvantages: Quick release button won't be a quick escape
...Not sure what the SI stands for, but it's a good quality car seat for your kids.
Our twins went into these seats from the age of 10 months, and were quite happy with the arrangements. had our twins in maxi-cosy rear facing seats from birth, but these Britax seats were their first forward facing seats.
Straps are an item worthy of comment.... There are 2 shoulder straps, big loops that come from behind baby's bum, to the shoulder pad.
The two loops each have a buckle clip, free sliding on the strap. When the child is placed into the seat, the straps must be brought around the arms, and brought together in the middle before inserting into thebuckle, which is attached to a centre strap, through the seat base.
In effect, once buckled, you have shoulder , side, and groin straps, connected through one buckle.
Despite the buckle...

Quirky but great
Review of Wilkinet Sling by
Happymama
Advantages: Comfortable, eye-candy, fits the largest
Disadvantages: Fiddly until you know the secret (read below)
...I bought my Wilkinet after a brief foray into life with a cheaper, flimsier version which shall remain nameless. The instructions that come with the well packaged carrier are clear enough for everyone, but those that don't read them will surely struggle. The straps that loop over your shoulders from the front, cross at the back and tie at the front are super-long, and that's my secret of how to control it when you're putting it on. If you hold your baby in the sling to your chest, throw one strap over your shoulder, cross it with your hand behind your back, then STAND on it, you can lean forward to apply tension and then the other strap is easy to sort, and baby is secure. Strap extensions are available from the supplier if they're not long enough for you. We've walked miles with ours, and it was comfy for my husband and I and my...

Cheaper but just as safe.
Review of Mothercare Express Car Seat by
colly22
Advantages: Easy to install, reclining seat.
Disadvantages: none found as yet.
...-Reclines into 4 different positions
-Can be installed in cars with auomatic 3 point safety belts, or static 2 point safety belt (lap belt)
-3 height positions for shoulder straps.
-Red plastic positional markers to show where belt should be threaded.
-Handy belt hooks on the side to keep straps out of way when putting child into seat.
SEAT INSTALLATION
Mothercare stores offer a free service to try a car seat in your car before purchase to see if it is suitable. Remember not all car seats fit all cars, please check before you buy!
I can only describe the installation using a 3 point seat belt, as this is what is fitted in our car.
-Put the seat on the car seat, and recline the seat as far back as it will go.
-Put the seat belt through the gap between the shell and the base.
-Clip the seat belt in.
-Check the lap belt is slotted in to the red...

Carry more with Karrimor!!!
Review of Karrimor vault 20 by
Kingkarliii
Advantages: Lighwreight well made rucksack
Disadvantages: There are to many straps
...size lunch box and a flask with plenty of space left over for other bits and pieces. There is also a compartment inside this that is ideal for putting paperwork into because the rucksack has a hard back and will help keep the paper uncrumpled. Located at the top inside the bag is a key or wallet hook.
The back of the rucksack is very well padded and has padded shoulder straps that are easily adjusted to fit your body frame.
As well as all this it has adjustable chest straps, waist straps and side compression straps. I have taken the chest straps off but have left the waist straps on. I do occasionally use the waist straps and have found that I can wear the rucksack without having to use the straps. The side compression straps help to balance the load somehow. But it is not a feature that I find beneficial to my use.
There is also a haul...

The best way to carry clubs
Review of Wilson Golf Bags by
kimborob
Advantages: lightweight, balanced, esay to carry
Disadvantages: none so far
...Having always used a trolley to carry my golf clubs round the course and being entirely fed up with always being the one taking the longest route, I decided recently to switch to a new golf bag.
Several of my friends all use the new type of carrying strap which allows you to carry the clubs weighted equally over each shoulder which helps prevent possible back and shoulder problems caused by the traditiona | | |
