David Beckham, How Great Is He
Review of Manchester United by
ashford
Advantages: Great crosser. Superb at free kicks.Hard working
Disadvantages: Not a complete player
...David Beckham of Manchester United and England is,of course, a very high profile soccer player who is rarely out of the limelight. Although born in London he has spent his entire career at the famous club from Manchester- Manchester United are the richest soccer club in the world.
Beckham was a good player as a youth and was signed by Manchester United and brought up through their youth team which has produced such good players as Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and the Neville brothers.According to the youth team coach ,as youngsters Paul Scholes rather overshone David but he observes that Beckham was incredibly hard working. He is thus not surprised that he has got where he is today.
Basically David Beckham is a rather shy personality and being married to a Spice Girl, Victoria Adams, pushes him further into the limelight...

Secret of United's Success
Review of Manchester United by
brianbarnes
Advantages: Big Club, Popular, Newsworthy
Disadvantages: Big Club, Popular, Newsworthy
...Manchester United have gone on to dominate English soccer in the same
way Liverpool did back in the 70's and 80's. But it's not just a case
of money buying success. The main cause of this domination is two "home
grown" players.
In Ryan Giggs and David Beckham, United have two truly world class wide
men. No other club in the Premier League can boast this strength.
If say, Harry Kewell is rampaging down your left flank as a coach you'd
put double cover on him.
Providing this level of cover on both sides of the park really
stretches the defence. And something has to give. Do you pull back one
of the front men, or let Giggs go free?
Even without these two players on the pitch United are a good side, but
the wingers make a big difference.
Although I expect Liverpool to be United's main challengers next
season, if Leeds can find a truly...

Ryan Giggs Secrets and Skills DVD Review
Review of Ryan Giggs - Secrets And Skills DVD by
heiky0711
Advantages: good for basic football skills and drills
Disadvantages: no slow motion effects
...It was back in 1994, World Cup fever in the US. At the time, I couldn't believe this DVD would exist, especially Ryan Giggs has always been my all-time hero for both Manchester United and football as a whole. I bought this DVD immediately and watch it as I got back.
The DVD plays the whole chapters including Ryan Giggs and Bobby Charlton guiding and teaching basic soccer skills, techniques and set pieces.
Then there's the Production Interview section covering Ryan Giggs's interview on his career and the making of this DVD.
The final section, Additional Footage showcase some significant footage featuring Ryan Giggs playing for Manchester United during his early career and scoring wonderful goals.
The DVD covers basic football skills on a football pitch featuring Ryan Giggs and Bobby Charlton along with voluntary kids.
Early part...

Sensble Soccer 93 94 season rocks like a basturd
Review of Sensible Soccer (PC) by
Hetfield
Advantages: It contains the key element football games today are lacking: gameplay
Disadvantages: Competitions are dated with recent reforms but it doesn't overshadow this gaming masterpiece.
...I don't care if there's no 3-D multi-pixel fully-motional characters and detailed stadiums and wonderful celebrations after cup finals. These elaborate effects seen today are just shadwing what the public want: a football game. People buy the latest Fifa game wanting to play a good game of football and having played Fifa for many years they think that's what they're getting. But they are forgetting such timeless classics as Sensible Soccer. Okay, half the players featured have retired or played for five other clubs since and yes European tournaments have been revamped and shifted around many times since this game came about and it doesn't have David Beckham wearing Manchester United's twentieth kit in four seasons but when it comes to the crunch it's a bloody good game of football. Fast-paced, high action and all the key...

Soccer AM 2 the DVD
Review of Soccer AM 2 DVD by
mjgfish
Advantages: Good laughs and great goals
Disadvantages: Only 58 minutes long
...crew and they are Sheephead who normally does topless weather, Fenner's who did a lot of the jokes Tubes who always has one question to ask and Rocket. Unfortunately Sheephead, Fenner's and Tim Lovejoy aren't in Soccer AM anymore as they have moved on but for this DVD it has some really jokes that you can't help laughing at.
The DVD features some great players in the history of the last 10 years with people such as Eric Cantona, Zinedine Zidane and even some British talent like Paul Gascoigne and David Beckham. There are 6 more but I don't want to ruin the surprise of who made it too the top ten. Being a Manchester United fan I was thrilled to see the likes of Eric Cantona and David Beckham in the top ten players list of the last ten years so I knew this would make me enjoy the DVD a bit more.
The DVD also has some extras...

Comprehensively the best all rounder
Review of World Soccer Magazine by
BIGHORSE
Advantages: Comprehensive
Disadvantages: Little mention of England barring Manchester United's name every page or so
..., although it is believed that a deal is in progress to take him to the current Serie A leaders Roma at the end of the season for around 18 million. A few months ago they had a very interesting feature on the 100 most exciting up and coming players from around the world, and some interesting individuals were among their selection.
There is also plenty of talk about competitions in other continents aside from Europe, like the state of African football or South American football, quotes from famous old players and current managers, plenty of well-written and thought-provoking articles about things like, for example, the effect on the game of Manchester United signing a deal for merchandising with the New York Yankees, what it really means and what it is really all about and in aid of. If you have any desire to follow the national game throughout...

Pro Evo 2-0 FIFA
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 3 (PS2) by
jam_2004
Advantages: Innovative, brilliant gameplay
Disadvantages: Lack of official names, kits, players and stadiums
...but the commentary from Peter Brackley and Trevor Brooking has noticeably improved. The commentary in my view is just as good as FIFA's. But what spoils PES3 to an extent is the lack of official licenses. For example Trad Bricks!? as Manchester United, Charmartin!? as Real Madrid and West London White!? as Fulham. This is infuriating but it can be changed in the Edit Mode which will take you hours but at least it can be changed. However a few teams are official. Yay! They are AC Milan, Lazio, Parma, Juventus and Feyenoord. Sadly these are all foriegn teams but this is better than nothing.
So should you buy Pro Evolution Soccer 3? Find out in my verdict below.
Verdict
Graphics: 9 Very nice detailed animations and lighting effects. Way better than FIFA.
Sound: 7 The commentary has noticeably improved but that Japenese music is very annoying.
Gameplay...

The World is Not Enough
Review of Manchester United by
Victoria
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...Although as a Man United supporter myself I could be held as biased, who will ever beat Manchester United.
The strength of the team is formidable and the high level of players is shown by the fact that most of them are in the England squad.
The premiership no longer proves to be a challange for Manchester United, it has by now become envitable that they will win and who can forget the amazing treble they accomplished.
Whilst there is a lot of prejudice surrounding Manchester United no one can honestly say that they aren't one of the best teams in the world, if not the best....

Pro Evo or Fifa 07? Its easy....
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (PS2) by
trueblue89
Advantages: The closest thing you will get to real football
Disadvantages: Licenses and commentary
...added. Arsenal and Manchester United have thier kits correct, as do Czech Republic, England, Holland, Spain, Argentina, Sweden and Japan. This gives the game a better look, and more professional and lifelike.
Disadvantages
However, there are some disadvantages with the new game. Player licenses are still a thorn in the side of Konami, with many Internation sides, such as Wales, Cote d'Ivoire and Northern Ireland with fake player names. For example, Paul Jones is Paol Jaoes. This is very frustrating and does take hours of your time to rectify in the edit mode.
Another is the dull and boring commentary which has barely changed from its predecesor Pro Evolution Soccer 5. This is frustrating and is dull. You will receive a comment every 10 seconds, with the commentary very stunted. This does need improving in the next installment.
I picked...

The continual rise of D R J Beckham
Review of D. BECKHAM by
goodematthew
Advantages: He's a great footballer.
Disadvantages: He suffers from the changeable media.
...We all know who David Beckham is don’t we? He’s a midfielder, plays for England and Manchester United, has a pop star wife and a son whose namesake is a New York suburb. What about the history of Beckham? Want to know? Ok, then…
David Robert Joseph Beckham was born on the 2nd of May 1975 in Leytonstone, a suburb of London. His father, David Edward Beckham, was a gas fitter's mate and his mother, Sandra, a hairdresser. He has two sisters: Lynne and Joanne. His father had dreamed of being a footballer as a boy. Instead it was his son who was to fulfil his dream.
David played firstly for Ridgeway Rovers of the Enfield District League from the age of 8 and won Bobby Charlton's Soccer Skills Tournament with the biggest score ever. Unusually, like his father, David supported Manchester United, his future club, all this life. Later at 14...
