...The Sony TRV27E camera although a little bulky compared to the new digital video cameras combines good value and good sound and picture quality. Bought for last years holiday to Florida the camera more than stood up to its job and has proved to be very reliable. Battery life is quite long and additional batteries are quite cheap. It uses the Video 8 format and all functions are easy to use and it comes with a great instruction book too. One of the best features is the 0 Lux infra red nightshot mode allowing you to take video in complete darkness using its invisible infra red light emitter. Advantages: Everthing you would expect multiplied by 10.
Disadvantages: Low light, lowers the picture quality. But nightshot is great.

...I have always enjoyed videoing my friends and family. Like many people, when I do venture abroad I am filming constently. I used to use an old Sony 8mm video camera and recently upgraded to the PC100E. This DV Camera is unreal. The steadyshot feature is unshakable. The 0 LUX nightshot mode really means 0 LUX. Due to the megapixel CCD, the digital zoom (after 10x) is very good when compared to a lower spec DV camera. I also use this camera for photography, the sony memory sticks are easy to come by and the digital photo quality it brilliant. I don't use my 35mm still camera anymore. Also another feature which isn't mentioned much, is the ability to take analogue inputs to the camera!! You can convert your analogue movies into digital. Combined with a pinnacle studio editor, I am now able to produce broadcast quality films about anything... Read review

...Lux soap is a very famous household bodycare product.There are a range of Lux soaps including Lux Beauty Soap and soaps specially for oily,dry and normal skin. I regularly buy Lux ,for Normal Skin, in packs of three 100 gr bars,when I was a young boy my Mother did likewise and I guess her Mother too bought Lux soap for her family. Indeed there can be few British households who are not familiar with this very famous brand. Lux soap is produced by the mighty Anglo Dutch multinationalcompany, Unilever, and they also produce other well known brands including the likes of Pears and Dove soap. Lux is a widely available product and my 100 gr bar which I am currently using is a nice creamy,white colour,has a pleasant but not overpouring smell, and lathers well.It comes in a blue and white packet and is said to be specially enriched... Advantages: night and supernight shot upto 10 hours of use from one battery
Disadvantages: bit on the big size now compared to newer cameras

...they are doing as it has manual focus and other effects aswell. It has a optical zoom of 25 times but can be set to go to a digital zoom of 700 times but you will need to use a tripod to get steady results from it. The best part about this camera i think has the be the sony nightshot which lets you shot video in 0 lux conditions i.e. nighttime with no extra video light but it is unsteady and only in snoys infra green colour and is good upto about 3 foot. The camera has and active hotshoe (i.e. powered form the camera) for mounting mics video lights or even better infra red lighting with video lights in one unit which i have used aswell which gives you and increase upto 10 feet for night time shooting. The outputs from this camrea are s video, normal a/v out DV out (firewire) and USB output so it can be connected to your TV or computer in anyway... Read review

...Lux good day sunshine soap I don’t know how it happened but I ran out of soap yesterday, so I went to my local shop 3 minutes walk away to buy some. This shop sells newspapers sweets a few items such as tinned meat pies tinned peas, toothpaste, soap not many choices but enough if you are desperate. The soap they had for sale was Lux I think there was one other brand but I chose lux. Lux in this shop cost me 55p for a 125g bar. I have seen it in an on line shop for £1.65 for a 4 bar pack. Lux is a name that has been around for years produced by unilever. William Heskett Lever son of a shopkeeper made soap in 1895 and called it sunlight .In 1901 he had his own factory making soap products. I expect that sunlight is a little different to the bar of Good day sunshine I bought. The bar comes wrapped in a paper wrapper an orangey apricot... Read review

..., exposure, zoom, manual focus, recording and other basic functions can all be tweaked without using the touch screen which is quite useful. It is solidly built with a brushed-metal body that is attractive to look at and has a fabulous feel to it, there is also an automatic lens cover which protects against debris and fingerprints. The memory stick has easy access points and external connecting is effortless The HDR-HC3E stands out with it being able to record at the 1080i high-definition resolution. Sony promises "4.5 times the definition of DV". It uses the same MiniDV tapes you're used to, and around an hour of 1080i shooting will fit on a single tape. When HD is not required you can shoot in Standard mode too. Photo quality is good. Images lack some quality compared to those taken on digital cameras , but ultimately they are good for 6 x 4... ...I bought this camcorder in last christmas to take videos for my little daughter. During that time, I have a choice to swtich to hard-drive based camcorder or ordinary MiniDV camcorder. However the price difference is so ridiculously huge. I was persuaded to take this Camcorder with the fantastic freebies. After using it for a month, I can confidently said that it is really value for money, as it got all the feature you want, consider an DV-input, a good separate charger instead of using your camcorder as a charger like other brand. If you have a spare battery like me, you will be able to use the camcorder eventhough your first battery runout without buying a separate charger like other brand. The quality of the picture is excellent in daylight, however, it has no zero lux capability like the Sony Camcorder. If you swtich on the light... Read review

...I purchased this DV camera after spending about two months reviewing and looking around at diffrent DV cameras. At the time (and probably still) it was voted as the best of its brand of cameras by ZDNet and I have enjoyed it. I love being able to video tape and store still photos at the same time on the same machine, although I replaced the orginal "1 hour" battery with a pair of 3 1/2 - 5 hour batteries which usualy provide about 3 hours when using the HUGE view screen. (The view screen is 3" I belive). The camera is about the right weight to video tape without much shake until you want to zoom in on something above 5X, then it can get a little shaky. The big thing I can't figure out is why JVC put a flash on the camera that cannot be operated as a full time light since the camera has no low light lux like the Sony, but if you don... Read review

...After studying the features of other DV Camcorders on the market, I decided that the extra features of the PC100 were worth the extra. I have not been dissapointed. The basic functions are easy to use (my 12 year old niece is an expert), and the results have been spectacular. If you are used to VHS or Hi-8 quality, you will be stunned at the definition. Even in low lux conditions it delivers good results. The night-shot function is fun, but how often do you want to film badgers in the garden? The digital effects are slightly fiddly to select, but provide good results. I particularly like "old movie", which provides sepia pictures, in a cinema format with slightly jerky pictures. Still pictures can be recorded onto the tape (about 7 seconds of tape, including an audio track) but are better recorded onto the memory stick (flash RAM... Read review

...I bought a Sony 80x Digital Handycam Camcorder; it uses Hi8 Digital cassette tapes. The model I bought has a colour LCD monitor, which you can use during recording and playback, and when having problems recording siblings, you can turn it 180 degrees and the kids can actually see themselves the right way up in it, it really fascinates kids. The screen has a volume control and the sound is very clear, even on the highest setting. You can also adjust the brightness of the LCD screen This model has a Nightshot 0 Lux facility, which when recording in the night enables you to see, you can see all the creatures that come out in the dark, very clearly. Luckily for me it has Super Steady Shot, I use my camcorder for long periods of time, even though the camcorder is very light your arm does begin to ache and then I get the shakes... Read review
