Riveting Reading
Review of Spirit & Destiny Magazine by
gypsyangel
Advantages: See op
Disadvantages: Not easy to find in shops
...Spirit and Destiny first came to my attention a couple of years ago when a friend gave me her old copy of the magazine.I was instantly hooked. This is not just your usual monthly mag it has much more to offer.
Spirit & Destiny has many different sections to appeal to different readers.
There is a destiny and beyond section which, this month, includes Chinese horoscopes,an article on reading auras and the magazines resident white witch offering simple spells and remedies to solve readers dilemmas.
In the feel good section there is celeb watch where a psychic or clairvoyant predicts what is going to happen to different celebrities in the coming months.Feel good also includes a monthly article by the barefoot doctor, star dates and what's hot this month.
In this months edition features include an interview with John Travolta and his...

Spirit & Destiny not just for New Age Hippies!
Review of Spirit & Destiny Magazine by
lizbizi
Advantages: Price, variety of subjects covered, lack of advertisements.
Disadvantages: Not enough months in a year.
...This brilliant newish {been around since about September 2002} magazine is like a breath of air to anyone wanting abit more than pages of advertisements out of their monthly magazine.
For £2.80 an issue you can have a magazine crammed with everything spiritual/destiny related that you could wish for.
From the ancient art of rune casting, alternative therapies, chinese horoscopes, psychics and mediums put the test,to fairies and guardian angels to wiccan witchcraft.
Every article is knowledgable, easy to read and gives an insight into many different beliefs.
Includes an indepth horoscope every month which has been surprisingly accurate!
Whatever the reader wants on a spiritual level can be found within the covers of this publication.
The only problem i have found is that i cannot put it down until i have read it cover to cover and then i...

What's your destiny??
Review of Spirit & Destiny Magazine by
becky93
Advantages: Less adverts then other mags...
Disadvantages: Not many places sell it!
...I started reading this magazine in September 2003, and have had every magazine the have published since. I have to admit, this is the first magazine that I have just HAD to get every month. Others have been when I remembered, or felt like it, but if I've missed a couple I haven't worried.
Every month there is a page that tells you the important days in that month, depending on where the moon is etc, then there are also in depth forecasts for the month for each star sign which happen to be very accurate! I have to admit that my favouirte section is that of Silja. She gives you tips (this month it was on superstition), and every other month she explains one of the deity's in the Wicca religion. People also write in with questions and concerns, and Silja gives them advice (when there is a non magical alternative Silja always chooses...

My Spirit is Destined to be Read
Review of Spirit & Destiny Magazine by
Coriander
Advantages: A long and entertaining read
Disadvantages: More than a passing esoteric interest needed
...I discovered this magazine quite by accident. Having been bored and looking for something different, it was a case of this one or another on angling. Well I like angling but not the fishy kind (try a different context). So I picked it up, flicked through the pages and with curiosity firmly aroused purchased the mag.
It won’t appeal to everyone but I couldn’t resist taking "Spirit & Destiny" home. It isn’t your usual horoscope magazine but incorporates many sections on everything from aromatherapy oils to celebrity interviews. I found it diverse enough to keep me interested for more than an hour and I am still going back to it for various snippets of information even now.
If you only want to giggle your way through your monthly forecast this would be quite an expensive way to do it. But if your into natural healing and organic...

The CD's In My Player
Review of Writing's On The Wall, The - Destiny's Child by
FlipModeP
Advantages: Quality tracks from the 4 newcomers
Disadvantages: They think they're God's gift to women
...Before I had bought this album, it had been recommended to me by magazines and television clips, and after hearing Bills Bills Bills, my favourite song of last summer, I decided that I would go along with their advice and make a purchase. When I got home with this album, I did the foolish thing. I played the CD through once and said, ‘ yes this a decent album’. That was the last time I listened to it, until a month ago. Whilst I was listening to their new song Jumpin’ Jumpin’ on Radio 1, I thought to myself and realised how good they actually were. So when the song was finished I hopped up stairs to my bedroom and inserted Destiny’s Child into my player. From then on, the album has remained in my CD player. The album is packed with quality tracks such as Bills Bills Bills, Say My Name, Jumpin’ Jumpin’ and yet to be released So Good...

A GLIMPSE INTO THE OTHER REALM
Review of Vision Magazine by
carolburns
Advantages: good magazine with interesting features
Disadvantages: quite expensive compared to others of the same ilk
...Vision magazine was first published in January 2005 by Vision Magazine Limited in Leeds. It is priced £2.95 per monthly issue and seems to be the newest entry into the wolrd of Spiritual, Paranormal and Holistic reading.
Even though I felt the price was quite high for a magazine of this kind I still bought one to have a look and see what it had to offer. Unlike many other magazines, Vision has a main theme each month. The edition I bought was August and the main feature was Atlantis. There are 82 pages with approximately 6 of them being adverts for various psychic lines, psychics and holistic treatments. There is a review section which has 2 pages of the books of the month which are linked to the features in the magazine. There is also the Vision Shop where you can purchase pendulums, pendants, crystals, Tarot cards and Cds. You also...

A free Spirit
Review of Superdrug Spirit Magazine by
Sibella
Advantages: It's free!
Disadvantages: none
...Spirit is a free, short, in store magazine from Superdrug which I think deserves a mention in this catagory.
What you need to know to begin with is that, like all in store mags, the main purpose of Spirit is to advertise special offers and new products.
This aside, Spirit is one of the most helpful reads I've had regarding health and beauty advice. Every month it contains columns and advice on the latest fads, worries, and breakthroughs regarding womens health and wellbeing. There are regulars on beauty tips and the best brands, all of which have been tried and tested by the editors and columnists themselves, or in many situations the readers. So just like her on Ciao it's the consumers' verdict to the rescue!
In addition there is sometimes a seperate mens' section, containing all the shaving tips and hair advice needed for todays...

Mind, Body and Spirit Magazine
Review of Mind Body Spirit Magazine by
malibu_miffy
Advantages: It has something for everyone
Disadvantages: £2.99 is a bit expensive every week
...described. To start from scratch, much of the equipment would be very costly and possibly hard to find.
The main advantage to this magazine over many books is that it takes you through different techniques step by step from the very beginning of the process. Many books expect you to already have a basic understanding and can throw you in at the deep end. The depth of explanation in Mind, Body and Spirit Magazine is in such detail that it prevents you from becomming bored before you have even started.
If you have an interest in alternative health treatments, old traditions different types of analysis, the supernatural and readings such as Tarot and Palm then this is the magazine for you....

Celebrity Gossip
Review of Closer Magazine by
tabyorky
Advantages: Gossip, real life stories, cheap
Disadvantages: None unless you do not like gossip
...I am always buying different magazine's, but lately I have been buying Closer. The main reason I decided to buy it was to read all the celebrity gossip.
The magazine is bright pink in colour with photo's and what stories are going to be inside the magazine that week. It comes out once a week and only cost £1 which is a real bargain. With it coming out weekly you get to catch up on all the latest gossip. There have been 87 issues so far so has been around for quite a while now. The magazine is published by EMAP entertainement on behalf of EMAP grouip PLC.
The magazine has different sections and these are:-
News
Features
Lifestyle
Puzzles
Closer TV
Destiny
7 Deadly Sins
News is obviously all the latest gossip on the stars.
Features. This covers stories on stars and people in real life too like Who's got the best facelift and I...
