He loves his homeland. But his contact with humans brings him into many troubles. From troubles with a military base to the railway project. But it also brings him to Little Creek, an Indian, and Rain, Little Creek' s mare, who will be Spirit' s true lover. Together with Little Creek, Spirit passes many adventures to get his freedom. ...Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron **************************** I'm not a big fan of animated movies, so when my sister bought back a copy of the latest DreamWorks movie a good few years ago now, I was very unimpressed. I initially tried to think of every excuse going, I mean classics like Beauty and the Beast and Lady and the Tramp are fine, but a film about talking horses? ...the plot. The characters are well developed, diverse and show real human complexity of spirit. The bad guys aren't all bad, and the good guys not entirely good. A few are just plain schizophrenic. I like this; I find it refreshing to watch a movie and end up feeling sorry for the person I initially perceived as the chief evil person. Similarly, No-face, who starts off as a confused but essentially good spirit, becomes incredibly evil, and then goes back to being kind again. Hmm, Must be that time of the month. The dubbing is actually pretty good, and well timed not to clash with the animation. The animation itself was AMAZING. If I hadn't been commenting 'It's so beautiful' every few minutes, I might have forgotten it wasn't a real place, as some of the detail in the animation was amazing.
