You just cant kill them!
Review of Stellar Stellar 1000 Cookware by wompie99

Advantages: Impossible to 'Nuke'
Disadvantages: Hot handles

..., sauces etc. 16cm Saucepan with Lid-Volume 1.5L Cost Approx £26.00 Our 'veg' pan, ideal size for boiling veggies. 20cm Saucepan with Lid-Volume 2.75L Cost Approx £35:00 People over for dinner pan. (prices do vary, those above are probably the cheapest you will find them- pans RRP (20cm) is £70.00!) All these pans come with 'pourable' edges making it easy to pour contents from any side of the pan. All are stainless steal and retain there shine perfectly wash after wash. I have burnt, stuck, cremated, fried, dropped, scraped and 'nuked' these pans and still they remain in perfect condition! My only complaint with this range is that the handles do tend to get warm especially if, like me, you cook on gas and have multiple ring going at once. Stellar Stainless Steel Cookware is manufactured from Premium Grade 18/10 Stainless Steel... Read review

Just in case the Queen pops round for dinner .....
Review of Tesco Finest Copper Based Pan Range by MikeLB

Advantages: Stylish, Durable, Classy, Excellent Performance
Disadvantages: Not all Non Stick Coated, Weight could be a problem for some

...ring temperatures either to achieve the same result. In fact there is a wee bit of a knack to using the pans and it pays to practise a couple of times first. The Frying Pan and Milk Pan come with a Teflon non stick coating. The Saucepans and Stock Pot are not teflon coated, but come with lids. The Stock Pot and larger saucpans come with two handles to make it easier to life them on and off the ring to avoid damaging the base and also witht he weight issue due to the copper. The pans are constructed from Stainless Steel, with a metal handle which can get hot during use so a glove is recommended too, and all the pans have a nice shiny 2 cm thick copper bottom to them. This is stamped with the Finest logo (pure snobbery) and also cooker and washing symbols too. I find the pans cook very well, and having no Teflon coating is not too much... Read review

The Germans don't give us any stick.
Review of SKK Titanium Cookware by sylviesinc

Advantages: Always looks brand new,cooks a dream,truly non-stick.
Disadvantages: expensive

...20cm frypan lid fits my 20cm saucepan. ~~~ The range is really quite large and you can buy casserole dishes, grill pans, sauté pans, stewpots, paella pans, etc etc. The lids also come in a variety of designs in stainless steel or glass, with silver or black handles. ~~~ I bought these for my ceramic hob, but they are suitable for gas or electric solid plate and there is a separate range especially for induction cookers. There is also a brand new lightweight range which is less expensive but with all of the advantages. All of the pans come with a 5 year guarantee, and as they are made in Germany they meet all the requirements of the Bundesgesundheitsamt and the FDA(USA). ~~~ Each pan comes packed in its own box which contains all the information you need to know about the product. They are dishwasher safe, but I don't put them in my... Read review

These things are way heavy man!
Review of Le Creuset Cookware by danni_elle

Advantages: Better for cooking than other pans, get's hot quicker and hold heat better
Disadvantages: Very very heavy! Price

.... They control the food as it cooks and you do feel more in control of what's happening especially if you are doing more than one saucepan - more than one is enough of a headache for me!! They transfer easily from hob to oven and have special heat proof handles to allow you to put the whole saucepan in the oven without worrying that the handle will melt. In the 5 piece set, you get a casserole dish/pan with lid, a large griddle pan, a large saucepan and lid, a medium saucepan and lid and a milk pan with lid plus a lovely Le Crueset branded stainless steel hangiing rack which holds all the pans and their lids nicely and neatly. Mine sits above the microwave, it's that compact. The pans wash up really easily, they soak in the soapy water and then wipe off with a cloth and that's all there is - no scrubbing or effort involved. One thing though, it... Read review

My fab Smeg!
Review of Smeg A1.2 by sallysmith1973

Advantages: Lots of gas rings and internal cooker space
Disadvantages: Hard to keep clean!

..., we've left behind some great built in appliances - but not this time, I'm taking this one with me! The Smeg A1 model is 900cm wide, most normal ovens are 500 - 600 wide. We bought a stainless steel splashback and hood to match. It was part of a package bought from an online retailer. It sat in the hallway for months, because we saw the offer, saving several hundred pounds, and bought it there and then - even though we hadn't finished the kitchen itself! It comes with six gas rings, one really small one for milk pan-sized saucepans, one medium sized ring for the next sized saucepan up, two larger ones, one huge one (use for my Wok usually, but turned down low, as it is a monster!), and a fish kettle ring (elongated, especially for long thin pans). I don't cook fish in fish kettles very often, but it is handy for those cast iron griddle... Read review

Throw out that old gas stove!
Review of Trangia stoves by mattg23

Advantages: Lightweight, easy to use, fuel and time efficent
Disadvantages: hard to clean

...a small compact stove for just one person then the Mini-Trangia is the one for you. You can pick them for less than £20 and they are as durable and as efficient as the rest of the Trangia range. They include everything basic that's needed for 1 person to cook for themselves. However if you're looking for a cooker for 2 then the "27 series" stove is the one you want. Compact and lightweight (850g) it comes with two 1litre saucepans, an 18cm frying pan and the standard windshield and pan handler. These models start at around £40 but are available in non-stick and Duossal (stainless steel + aluminium) and have the option of a kettle (which isn't that particularly useful unless you're already using both saucepans) My favourite is the 25 series - It's every bit as efficient as the mini or 27 series but you can cook things on a larger scale... Smart, but don't spill anything !
Review of Indesit MK 64 R IX by robjak

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: Cleaning nooks and crannies difficult

...I have recently installed a new kitchen, with help from family members, one who is a retired chippy, and another who is a sparky. I have got black granit worktops and wanted a smart looking, functional, and mainly cheap, hob that would match. The prices on these vairy so much. After much searching I ended up paying £249 for this hob from Comet. It is mainly black with a stainless steel trim, a large and small ring along the back and a large and small ring along the front, and four control knobs on the right hand side. It measures 504 x 574 x 48 cm. When installing the hob, there is not much room for error, the hole has to be exact, or the hob will fall straight through the worktop. This is when my handy 'chippy' relative came into play ! When using the appliance, an excellent feature is the fact that there is a warning light... Read review

Am I really going to eat this vomit?
Review of Sainsburys Chicken Korma by mjthebabe

Advantages: Life span on tin is ages
Disadvantages: Very bland flavour

...Many of you who have read my reviews are aware that I do like a variety of spicy foods and this review is no exception. I was wandering around Sainsburys this time and as I’ve previously said this is a pastime that is not that appealing to me. I do believe there are better things to do with ones time. I have previously bought many curries that are in cans, but had not seen Chicken Korma before and thought that this would be ideal as the expiry date would be good. The stamp on the bottom of the tin saying that the product was ok until March 2006 proved this. As you can see this is Sainsburys own make and like I said it is supplied in a tin can. (Made of steel)It had a ring pull so I did't need to hunt for my tin opener. The tin had a picture on the outside and obviously writing to describe that in the container was Flavours... Read review

PHILLIPS KETTLE
Review of Philips HD4660 by Suziwann

Advantages: Cordless, flat element, robust
Disadvantages: They melt!

...name suggests quality, unlike the other less well known brands. Other kitchen appliances and gadgets have influenced the purchasing of this product with saucepans, toasters and microwave ovens all available in classic stainless steel finish, becoming a more popular alternative to the old traditional white appliances. AESTHETICS The appearance of the kettle is expensive and of good quality. It is symetrical and pleasing to the human eye. There isn't any unnecessary detail in it's appearance or design. It is a very elegant adaptation of the conventional gas kettles. The kettle is a machine aesthetic; the main body is made from spun stainless steel. The roundness and boldness of the stainless steel body are broken up with well placed split lines as necessary. All of the edges are softened with curves. These all fall nicely within... Read review

I workout in the kitchen
Review of Le Creuset Cookware by SusanLesley

Advantages: Works well, looks good, cleans easily
Disadvantages: Expensive!

...For many years I had been using Pyrex Vision saucepans, you know, the light brown glass ones. They were great to use and easy to clean. You can sense a ‘but’ coming here can’t you? Well here it is, but, they stopped making them, at least I couldn’t find any to buy anywhere. This meant that when I broke a saucepan here and a lid there I needed to think about replacing the lot. I had always liked the look of the Le Creuset range of saucepans but had always thought that they were far too expensive, however I was feeling a bit flush at the time (the feeling has passed now sadly!) so I decided it was time to treat myself. I bought the standard set of three saucepans, 1.1, 1.5 and 1.9 litres in capacity, which currently retail at £109.99 in Argos, although I think I paid about £95 for mine a couple of years ago if I remember rightly. I... Read review
