...18 January 2000 The Lion King Lyceum Theatre, London £20 I went to see The Lion King last year with my school on one of the school trips to london. We went and saw two musicals; Saturday Night Fever and The Lion King. The Lion King is being shown at The Lyceum Theatre in the West End of London and has been for the past year. The actors and Actresses aren't dressed up as animals but they are in a way. They have hats that are like an animal but you still see the actors face. Their make up is brilliant and they look so professional. The story hasn't been changed like some of the musicals do, so you already know the story if you have seen the Disney film. The Actors / Actresses all have amazing voices and they are very clear so if you are sitting high up you can still see very well. I thought this was the best Musical around... Read review

...that the first Lion king film exceeds me almost altogether on repeating a movie I have already watched more than 7 times. So after saying all that I will have to repeat - this release is a 5 disc set. It is enough discs for me and I think it is to be enough discs for you. For now I will just say that the better king of talking animal movies would always be a Disney film just like the jungle book, bambi, dalmations and many more; I saw all Disney films like this at the pictures. ...WOW, free music. This is the best way to download music and it is completely free. If you search for a band there is 9/10 chances that it will find it but thats only if there small bands anyway. When youve finished downloading a song then it puts it into your liabry strait away and you can listen to it till your hearts content. The only downside to napster is that quite often therre are transfer errors and it is not legal and will be shut down soon but other from that it is wicked.... Read review

If you haven't seen this musical gem, you are definitely in for a treat. The King and I is, without a doubt, one of the best musicals of all time. It recounts the true story of Anna Leonowens (Deborah Kerr), a schoolteacher who has lost her husband and hopes to find solace in a somewhat backward Siam. ...I saw Kings of Leon supporting The Music when they played the Bridlington Spa a few years back. And I was very much impressed by the fact that they got a crowd who had hardly heard of these guys to mosh. Kings of Leon rock. Their 2nd album, A Ha Shake Heartbreak rocks. Theres no denying it, this is rock without all the fancy electronic gimmicks and craziness that all these new fangled bands have. It's surprisingly refreshing, there's no pretensiousness about these guys. The tracks of this album are full of bravado, brave and manly. Like what old fashioned rock should be. Caleb Folowill delivers his bar room drawl over some real music to strut to throughout this album. ...A great album of this imortal warriors of metal. If you like encouraging songs that sound like battle hymns, this is for your. Wheels of fire is the more typical heavy metal track of the album, even in the lyrics. Fast paced and interesting lyrics (just don't drive while you listen to this). The next tracks, kings of metal, is one of my faves. Great sound with self centered lyrics. A shame the choir sometimes sounds fake. Heart of steel is kind of a balad. Very sentimental and may touch those who feel "linked" to the lyric. I'll jump Sting Of The Bumblebee, The Crown And The Ring (Lament Of The Kings), Kingdom Come, because I find them the weaker in the album and I really don't listen to them very much (sting of the bumblebee is almost anoying). Disadvantages: Poor logic to plot, suspect characters, no passion in writing.

...listening music being genuinely disturbing. King's characters are also an intriguing if unfathomable bunch. Once again a writer uses a creative type in the form of Clay Riddell as the hero of the piece (this time as an illustrator). His love for his son is what drives him and his unwilling stubbornness to accept his likely fate makes him a likeable, naïve character. However, his apparent survival instincts are a little questionable and at times you find it hard to suspend your disbelief as a supporting cast of characters fall by the wayside. Similarly there is something bizarre about initially meek companion Tom Mc Courts rise to cynical, wisecracking sidekick. ...I am a keen lover of all things singing and dancing. I have loved the ‘Disney’ story of The Lion King since it came out at the cinema, and was dying to see the show at the Lyceum Theatre. I was lucky enough to see this award winning musical last year. The story: Young Simba is son of the King of Pride Rock, Mufasa, so is heir to the throne. Simba (a lion) meets Nala (a lioness) when they are young, and they become best of friends. The beginning of the story tracks their friendship, which turns into love when we see them age. Simba’s father dies, when Scar (the baddie!) kills him in order to be King. Simba is supposed to become king, but Scar ends up taking over the throne through his lying to Simba and banishing him from Pride Rock.
