A ritualistic French exercise regime methinks
Review of CH´TI Ambree by
Newfloridian
Advantages: The name; A nice slow smooth way to pass the time
Disadvantages: The name; The French ALWAYS have a word for it
...One of my local supermarkets has really been going its ends recently in stocking up on interesting import beers. I have had a pleasant time supping my way slowly down the aisles and making notes to share with fellow readers. Now the headings have appeared and it is time to do some writing in appreciation.
Yes, I know – the name of this brew is more unusual that any heading I could have thought up. It is also the first of a pair of reviews that I will be posting in quick succession – the second will be about its sister ale Blonde. This is intentional as I tried them in tandem as a comparison.
I have spent quite a while researching the meaning of CH’TI – the brewery’s website is not helpful. I came across the notion that a “Ch’ti” is a person born in the North of France and that “ch'timi” is the language of Northerners. Maybe...

TI S2 Not That Bad
Review of Head TI S2 by
markcrook
Advantages: Light, cheap for titanium
Disadvantages: Small racket head
...I purchased a TiS2 about a year and a half ago as I needed a light racket after injuring a hand in a footballing accident and the TiS2 was one of the lightest rackets around together with the TiS6. Most people in the club were going for the TiS6 which has a larger head and thicker frame.
I find the racket easy to use and can handle all types of shots both with power from the base line and delicate touches around the net. I have only just replaced the strings after 1 and a half years.
As newer rackets are now coming on the market the TiS2 is now an excellent choice as they can be picked up for near the £100 which is pretty good for a titanium racket....

●An Album Fit For A King●
Review of King [PA] - T.I. by
x-staz-x
Advantages: Lot of great songs
Disadvantages: None
...T.I was born Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. on 25 September, 1980, in Atlanta, Georgia. His rise to fame wasn't a great start, as after the release of his debut album, "I'm Serious" in 2001, he was dropped by his label, Arista Records, after his first 2 singles never made the top 20, and the album was left uncertified as it sold only 200,000 copies in the US.
After being dropped, he formed his own record label, Grand Hustle Records, and spent the next year releasing Mix-Tapes. It was only in 2003 he resurfaced, when he released his third and fourth singles and his second album, "Trap Muzik", which sold 900,000 copies in the US, being certified Gold.
In 2004 he became known more known in the UK, with the hit single, "Bring Em Out", and his third album, "Urban Legend", which sold 1.1 million copies in the US, being certified as Platinum...

Arghh me harties, tis a fine hotel we have here...
Review of TI - Treasure Island at The Mirage, Las Vegas by
jcduk
Advantages: It's a fun, Kid friendly hotel!
Disadvantages: Sit's at one "end" of the Strip.
...to fault at all. The first thing my daughter did was look out the window. We overlooked the strip and the staging area for the 4 times nightly pirate show (7/8:30/10/11:30). If you've seen "Miss Congeniality 2" then you've had a taster for the show.... The first thing my daughter complained was "we're going to be kept awake by the show every night". But every night, for every show, she had her nose pressed up to the glass watching it over and over again! She loved it!
One BIG mistake I made, was not booking tickets for the Circque du Soleil show before we got there. You MUST see this, but book the tickets as far in advance as possible. I didn't get to see the show at TI, or any of their other productions in Vegas - though I have seen them before. MUST, MUST, MUST book this and see their show!! Cannot rave about them enough. Kids love...

Rural CLUBBING Hyderabadi Ti STYLE............
Review of Treasure Island by
Connoisseur_Haggler
Advantages: The Only Club in Hyderabad, relaxed atmosphere, rural setting with no-congestion on route, and no mosquitos!
Disadvantages: a bit far out of the city to get to, no buses, taxi's at night
..., swimming pool, karting etc, as well as access to mouth-watering cuisine. However as the night sets in Treasure Island becomes alive with its local disco; the atmosphere is buzzing, as the music gets louder. The crowds start arriving from 10.30pm onwards. Unlike Clubbing in UK there are no black cabs dropping people off, instead it’s a collection of private cars or people who have managed to talk their drivers into working late!! Entry into TI costs Rs.200 (which is about £3) so it’s not too pricey. At the time of writing the disco only operates on Saturday nights, though this may change in future if the demand is high enough on weekday nights.
As you approach the entrance to TI’s disco called ‘The Robber's Roost ‘ you will be impressed. It looks like a hut on an island made of wood, straw and logs and you suddenly start feeling relaxed...

The Tragic Tale Of A Lost Scots Rugby Supporter
Review of Scotland by
the_mad_cabbie
Advantages: See opinion
Disadvantages: See opinion
...of their own, I probably do even better with tips than my Irish born colleagues, many giving me “the price of a dram” on leaving the taxi. (all right, I own up. I don’t tell them I’m a tee-totaller!!!)
I would normally make upwards of a £1,000 for the Friday and Saturday alone, which I’m sure you’d agree is very good money in anybody’s book.
~ ~ So we have set the scene.
This is the tale of a lonely and forlorn Scottish rugby supporter, who somehow managed to get himself separated from his drinking buddies, and lost in a strange city.
~ ~ Any given weekend night in Dublin, taxis are at a premium anytime from around midnight onwards, as all other forms of public transport virtually close down at 11.30 PM.
It is even worse the weekend of a rugby international, as the thousands of supporters add...

One of the Best Budget VGA cards
Review of XFX GeForce4 Ti 4200 by
hahnchen
Advantages: Great Value for Money, so easy to overclock
Disadvantages: Not going to come close to current generation of cards
...This card, is from the Geforce 4 series of cards. We're now onto the Geforce 6 series, so you can tell, this card is getting old. It's not going to be able to compete with the new generation of cards that are being released, but it is probably one of the best budget cards around.
A little lesson in hardware. VGA cards, have many processor pipelines, you can think of these as separate processors, it enables the processor to do calculations in parallel and thus increase the performance. Nowadays, when a company releases a budget card, it's been slowed down by having the number of processor pipelines choked down.
Not so with the Geforce Ti4200, back in the day, all manufacturers did with these cards to differentiate them from their costlier more powerful brothers, was to slow them down. But the thing is, anyone who knows anything...

Old but powerful
Review of NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 200 by
Vectrex
Advantages: Cheap, Powerful & Stable.
Disadvantages: Probably better off with a GeForce 4 ti200.
...was obviously performance, & my god what a boost it was! 3D mark benchmarks expected a 85% 3D performance increase, which I was obviously very dubious about. But as it turns out they were spot on.
With my system spec in 3D Mark 2001 on the default benchmark I get 6250 (6500 With a small overclock) 3D marks & considering my cpu & graphics card's age its quite impressive. With my friends Athlon XP 2100 & GeForce 4 ti200 achieveing 10,000 3d Marks.
It was also the reason my brother got rid of his GeForce 2 MX as he was blown away by the fact how fast my computer ran with this card :)
Most importantly however is games, and almost all games run at over 30fps (Newest games with turned down graphic detail and most pre 2003 games at max or close to) which is perfectly acceptable. As a rough idea this is how well games run :
Half-Life : 100fps

The BEST drive for TiVo or Sky+ upgrades
Review of Samsung SpinPoint V120CE HA250JC 250 GB by
tivoheaven
Advantages: Low noise, very cool running, low vibration, reliability
Disadvantages: not the biggest or cheapest drive you can buy
...In our experience (2 years supplying this drive for TiVo upgrades) this is the quietest, coolest and most reliable drive you can buy to upgrade your TiVo or Sky+
It is a 5400rpm drive (unlike most these days which are 7200rpm) and the reduced spindle speed means it generates less heat and therefore runs a lot cooler and with less vibration than 7200rpm drives. This means that your TiVo or Sky+ will run cooler - extending the life of the drive - and the chance of it causing "hum" through vibration transmitted to the box and into your AV cabinet is much reduced too. In fact, the vibration of this drive is often so low that we have to double-check that it's powered on when configuring it as - unlike 7200rpm drives - you often can't feel it spinning when you put your hand on it!
The seek noise is also very soft and quiet too, especially...
