Advantages: Hours of childhood Nostalgia
Disadvantages: too much TV can hurt your eyes

Advantages: Superb action, brings back memories
Disadvantages: A bit dull near the end of the film

...I was six years old when I went to see Transformers the Movie at my local Odeon, my mum and aunt took me and while they both fell asleep watching it, I was totally glued to the screen in joy and amazement as I watched the TV series and I was hoping the movie would be better, it certainly was. Now, the popular mid eighties franchise has been released onto DVD and watching it for the first time since i was little, made me happy as Transformers has to be one of the most imaginative children's tales ever. Cars that change into robots and guns that change into evil robots and love blowing up things, BRILLIANT :P. The movie tells the tale of a mysterious planet, called Unicron (voiced by Orsen Welles), lurking round the universe destroying other planets in its path and gaining the energy from them and it is headed for the planet Cybertron... Advantages: Enjoyable Nostalgia

...This is the latest DVD release of the animated Transformers: the Movie. The film was released in cinemas in 1986 at the height of the Transformers popularity. If you grew up in the 80s and were a Transformers fan this film should bring back memories. When it was released in cinemas, critics dismissed the film as a feature-length toy advert. I think that's a bit unfair though. While it is clear that the main purpose of the film was to introduce a new wave of Transformer toys, the story is entertaining and the quality of the animation is impressive. The film is much darker and more violent that the TV series. Perhaps your enjoyment of the film depends on whether you were a small child who enjoyed the TV series and cared about the characters or not. Plus how can you not love the extremely 80s soundtrack? ...This review is about The Transformers: The Movie, I will give information about everything about Transformers the Movie, and hopefully some background on the episodes so you know the movie better. So here I go, about to start the review... The Transformers, are these robots that can transform into a vehicle, there are 2 different races, Autobots, and the Decepticons, they are 2 races trying to destroy each other. The Decepticons are the evil ones, and the Autobots are the good ones. It is a robot bruel. There are loads of Transformers, not all of them like to fight, but they must to defend themselves. You have some Transformers that have loads of different uses, like Perceptor (voice of Paul Eiding), who can transform into a telescope. Advantages: Accuratly portrayed characters, graphics aren't terrible.
Disadvantages: Gameplay, Dialogue, Replayability, Game physics... the list goes on.

... Transformers, change into something good will you? This game made me want to die inside. As wiith all movie tie-ins games, it is poor. There are no saving graces. From a funny and well made film comes yet another cheaply made and frankly terrible game. Anyway enough with the ranting, lets firstly focus on its positives. I enjoyed turning the system and was pleasantly surpirsed for actually getting credit at Game for returning it. Maybe we are being a bit harsh. Transforming into a car/truck/plane (this could go on for a while) can be fun, and will never lose its novelty. Tap triangle and watch your Transformer slip and slide its way into a new form.
