Reviews of tri band
this a nokia
Review of Nokia 8890 by
shak_y2k
Advantages: looks good
Disadvantages: everything even the looks, make the fone look like a toy!
...try either the motorola tri band better value for money and you know you get the best available option rather than a fashion objectthis fone was the given to me by my network provider before i went abroad to america. i required a tri band phone. as i had an 8850 they offered me a 8890 and my fone as a deposit. to be totally honest this fone is is a waste of money. you pay extra for a tri band function. it is the same fone as the 8850 but not dual band and insted tri band!
dont waste your money and time on this fone!...

Nintendocore
Review of R Borlax - Horse The Band by
tombrasington1337
Advantages: New exciting music
Disadvantages: None at all
...A lot of bands are trying to break the norm of music like Converge for example. However this just turns into a mess of noise and screaming. HORSE the band have managed to produce something completly fresh. Nintendocore, take your average hardcore band but add 8-bit nintendo esque tunes into it and you have some insane music.
Like all good hardcore bands the guitar work is intense, he is top notch. It builds up then broken down combining all the power of a hardcore bands and blasting out the synth chords.
Other than being a delight to listen to it has the nice advantage of having off the wall lyrics that don't include words about dying, blood and razors.
Go give it a try you may like it....

Victims of their success
Review of Catatonia - in general by
WFCfan
Advantages: Brilliant songwriting
Disadvantages: Cerys
....
The band faces a dilemma i.e. do they wait or look for another vocalist? On hearing the latest album, I feel that it is time for a change. Cerys has got too big for the band who are clearly trying too hard to accommodate her. Unless they change, I fear the worst.
It would be a shame to lose such a great band. However, if they wait much longer, I fear they will only be remembered as the band who cancelled endless tours....

Maximum Muse....
Review of Maximum Muse - Muse by
hyperbliss
Advantages: Gives information about the band
Disadvantages: Can get quite boring after a short amount of time.....
...Muse have been around since 1996 and from then on they have wowwed audiences all around the world and have been officially labelled as "the best band live" which i would 100% agree with after seeing them perform. The band consists of Matthew Bellamy on Vocals, Guitar and piano - Dominic Howard on drums and Chris wolstenholme on Bass and vocals and piano for the odd song too. The band play what i would call 'Progressive Rock' and manage to create a huge amount of sound despite only have three members who are constantly trying new things in music, which is why there songs never die down as they produce more songs and albums.
I bought this CD as i was very interested in the backround of the band and bought this cd to hear the full story.
The cd goes through the story of the band from the three of them messing around at battle of the bands...

Should be the biggest band around
Review of The Calling by
bosck
Advantages: Great guitarist, Unique vocalist, Own sound.
Disadvantages: Not as well known as they should be
..., as band mate Aaron Kamin says, a voice like you have never heard before, with an extraordinary range and ability to shift between pitches with ease. Added to this Kamin is brilliant on the guitar with some fine solos on the new album, all of which combine to create an awesome sound which will surely increase the bands strangely low popularity, and bring them success for years to come.
Although Billy Mohler and Nate Wood have now left the band again, The Calling are still going strong, and looking for replacements but have no intentions to give up as the two integral members, Kamin and Band, still remain.
I cannot repeat my self enough, if you have not heard this band then you really should try to, as you will be hooked. Even if you have heard “Wherever You Will Go” and did not like it, you should still give the album a go, as although I love...

Beta Band
Review of Three EPs, The - Beta Band (The) by
whoareyou5
Advantages: Touches your emotions
Disadvantages: None
...Citing influences ranging from the decidedly serious Martin Sheen to the asinine Chevy Chase to funkmaster Bootsy Collins, the Beta Band is a delight. This aptly titled compilation of three separately released EPs is sure to leave music fans scratching their collective head while trying to define this Scottish band's intricate aural hodgepodge. The Beta Band makes a very distinct and exciting impression. There's the unusual coupling of acoustic guitar, horn, sampled beats, and a catchy refrain on "Dry the Rain"; the hypnotic instrumental "B+A"; and "She's the One," which opens with a chaotic, hippyish drum circle that segues first to an anthemic chorus and then to a highly processed breakdown complete with a Jew's harp. The Three EPs will dominate the CD player, becoming somewhat of an obsession, with each listen revealing some brilliant...

The feeding
Review of Feeding, The [PA] - American Head Charge by
pinkmonkeygem
Advantages: introduced new musical ideas but retained alot of the old style
Disadvantages: too short
...American head charge are like a breath of frech air in the metal scene, so many industrial bands are trying desperately to break through into this scence, and it must be infuriatingly difficult to see a band like american head charge pull it off so effortlessly.
This album has retained the down-tuned tone and industrial feel which shone through on the last album, but also introduced both increasingly aggresive rhythms and more laid back, eerie melodies without losing the bite that the first album had.
The lyrics still reek of the compelling history that follows this band, with members coming and going, meeting at rehab and the constant struggle against addiction not seeming to effect this bands ability to rock.
I recently saw this band live and though initially shocked by the dramatic weight loss of Martin Cock (as he now like...

It's not too beautiful...but I like it.
Review of Beta Band, The - Beta Band (The) by
MonkeyboyUK
Advantages: Flawed genius.
Disadvantages: Frankly, a bit of a mess.
...work. I wouldn't recommend this album to anyone who isn't a fan of the band already, but if you've got the 3 Eps then I highly recommend giving it a try....

Let's Dance? No thanks, not to this band.
Review of Let's Dance - Test Switch Isolator by
RazzaLazza
Advantages: Some good songs
Disadvantages: Predominantly awful
...don't seem to be trying. There are some jazzy tracks such as 'This Rat Spawn Went to Market' showing that the band can write some genuinely interesting and entertaining songs without having to scream and shout. These moments on the album have a real Head Automatica vibe about them, and this happens to be a band that I love. It is hard to even grasp the concept that it's even the same band that has just been assaulting your ears by barking at you in previous tracks.
Having looked at the cover, I was expecting to dislike this album for being too Emo, however having listened to it I can reveal that I disliked a lot of it for being growly nonsense. When the band aren't doing this they are a pretty good band, however more often than not they choose to annoy you with their screaming, and it just didn't impress me. Some Metal...

Review of White Pony [ECD] - Deftones by
benjitheconquerer
Advantages: you get more than your moneys worth
Disadvantages: having to wait for the next installment to the deftones work
..., a personal section of each band member, lyrics to the songs and a really neat game similar to pac-man where you, the white pony, must collect all the musical notes while the band members heads try to catch you. You will understand if you know what pac-man is like. If you are a deftones fan i strongly advise you to buy this album if you haven't yet. Go get it....
