...display mode to use is 720p as the image is more fluid and things appear to be smoother when there is alot of fast paced action on the screen. If however you are playing a slower paced game such as Tiger Woods, I find its best to switch to 1080i as the image is more detailed. I haven't been able to test the 1080p mode as my TV doesn't support it but I imagine it works fine giving you the detail of 1080i with the fluidity of 720p. Over composite the picture isn't so good, it loses all its fidelity but if your purchasing this cable you probably are planning to use it on an HD set. Price: This cable should set you back around £20 and sells at all good video game stores such as Game and Gamestation. ...This is a very userfriendly, good quality TV. With built in S-video port it also enables the user to easily link this television upto their TV out card on a PC. The TV also comes with a side phono socket, for ease of connection using portable devices or games consoles, allowing easy switching between devices, and the Freeview can be transmitted out through a scart cable to a video or DVD recorder enabling this to be recorded. The one disadvantage of this TV is the time taken to go into standby mode. When turning into standby it automatically searches for updates from Bush. This usually takes around 2-3 minues, although if a connection cannot be reached, the Television stays with a blank screen and no sound, but produces an electrical buzzing noise while it waits for connection. ...When I first got my Mircrosoft Xbox 360 I didnt have a High-Definition television so I was stuck using the standard component cable. When I finally did upgrade my television I didnt think the picture quality was as good as the hype so did some research and found that maybe VGA would be worth a crack. Upon using the VGA cable for the first time the picture seemed instantly sharper. After tweaking the resolution of both my television and the Xbox 360 I found that the VGA cable was a very good purchase. There are a few issues with the cable though. As the cable displays through 60Hz I had to revert back to the component cable for certain Original Xbox games. You can buy a variety of things through live like new game content, movies, music documentaries etc. I would suggest getting gold and trying the full experience it's a one off charge each year and if you don't use it well you don't have to buy it again. Live is one of the best things Microsoft does, it just works, everything about it is just right from downloading, browsing and playing, Live is something highly recommended. The games are what you are getting this for and I'm not going to go into each and every one but the graphics are great I mean exceptionally great, and with HD TV there are even better, don't get me wrong though if you don't have a HDTV they work just as well on SDTV but HD just brings them to life, with Dolby digital surround sound and some great creativity to boot, if I was to recommend games for your new console... Videos There are a number of videos of games being played, This is a demonstration of what the game can do and gives you basic pointers on how to play the game. These videos are on the newer games and not a lot of the older games. The videos are a great tool to see how good the graphics are on a particular game you have seen or heard about. The xbox live system is great and every owner of an xbox is entitled to a free silver membership in which you can download games, music, videos, wallpapers, pictures (i could go on for a while) from the marketplace. Although these may come at a cost - which is where you can use microsoft points to buy these. of course there is still a lot of free stuff available and lots of demos of most new games. You can also purchase a gold membership for only about £30 - £40 and access all the above as well as being able to play for unlimited time onlin on games such as Call Of Duty 4 (probably my favourite game).
