...What happened to Tomorrow's World? Did it get severely dumbed down, or is technology just too technological for the poor, dumb public now? i remember watching TW only 10 or 15 years ago, and struggling to keep up with the science. It used to be Judith what's-her-face and that guy with the big hair, and they would actually show you the science behind new technology. A new development would come along and they'd actually take it apart and have big diagrams and long words and everything, and when they'd finished you'd have a pretty good idea of how it worked. What do we have now? John Snow and Philippa Forrester spending 5 minutes padding out each article with lame introductions. Then they explain what the gadget does, use the word "revolutionary" a few times and when it comes to the scientific explainations they either ignore it, gloss... Read review

Advantages: Brilliant concept & graphics, good gameplay
Disadvantages: Many pointless and inexcusable problems

...a battlefield where you can see your individual soldiers and command them on the battlefield. The potential for depth is enormous, and this is in fact (I believe) the best game concept ever invented, which is why I'm surprised that the Total War games are so unique. Some however might find its complexity overwhelming - it's certainly not a game for younger players or people with short attention spans: if you want a game to be able to zone out while playing, try a shooter or something. (short abbreviation guide: M2TW: Medieval 2: Total War RTW: Rome: Total War, the 3rd Total War game and most like M2TW in graphics and gameplay. MTW: Medieval Total War, the 2nd Total War game and set in the same time period as M2TW Graphically, M2TW in incredible, at least in the Battle Mode - the Campaign mode will look very familiar indeed to players of Rome... Advantages: Graphiccally stunning (provided you have a powerful pc) and plenty of replay value
Disadvantages: Too similar to the earlier games and not as challenging

...are good, but it sometime feels like Rome:TW with knights, rather than a whole new game. After the high expectations raised by Rome:TW, this games does not deliver enough of an improvement. In addition, the battles some how seem to be easier this time around. As an example, on my first attempt at a crusade, I managed to take Jerusalem first time, and never lost it again. This is most evident with Sieges, as it seems too easy to capture even the most fortified of strongholds. At times, the religion system can be a little random, as one vote for the wrong candidate in a papal election can ruin your standing. In one game I played, I was excommunicated a few turns after capturing Jerusalem, simply because the candidate who won was from a faction who did not like me. All in all, if you have played Rome:TW to death and want a new challenge... Read review

Advantages: Great for Tennis fans
Disadvantages: are there any ?

...Tennisworld is a UK magazine publisher monthly. It is priced (currently) at 2.90, and is thus very reasonable. CONTENT :- TW (tennis world) is packed full of information useful to the budding tennis player. Every month there are features on health, fitness, nutrition and obviously Tennis and the pro-tour. For example, the October edition contains a fascinating piece on US open Champion Lleyton Hewitt, an article about Anna Kournikova ( + pictures !), and an interesting health guide about stretching your joints (with very good explanatory pictures and advice). Of course, the features on technique are also very helpful - in October, the technique feature was about the forehand. LAYOUT :- The layout of the magazine is pleasing to the eye. Full color photos are used throughout, and the amount of adverts is not great. The index is easy... Read review
