...Having been a fan of Viz magazine for a few years, i got my hands on two Viz videos. One of which was sid the sexist. Preparing myself for something great i popped the video into my television and pressed play. Viz is hilarious when it is a magazine but when it is animated it seems to lose every quality it had. The jokes are no longer funny. The voices are terrible. The animation is terrible. I couldn't finish the video. The main point i have to make is that this video isn't ok or alright. It is absolutely unwatchable. It actually frustrated me. I felt annoyed and irritated. I managed to watch a couple episodes before i could stand it no longer. Disadvantages: A very specific type of humour that not everyone will appreciate

...Seeing as I'm the one who requested this product, I guess I'd better give you a bit of information about it. Viz is what is called an 'adult comic.' No, that doesn't mean tht is is pornographic, just that it contains adult humour, that wouldn't be suitable for the younger generation. Usually found on the top shelf of newsagents, you would be forgiven for thinking that this comic is somewhat of a taboo. However, if you find you like it, then you will really like it. The rest of this opinion has been given a C for caution rating ;o) Every issue, there are several different characters that are introduced, as well as some old favourites that pop up time and again. ...I've been a fan of Viz for a few years now and have had great experiences with the magazines, not so great with the videos. I got the book for Christmas and the first thing i noticed was how thick it was. It has 348 pages full of alternative swear words(That's 8000 rude words and phrases!), and is twice as big as the last version. Some silly and some not for the faint hearted. I find a few hilarious and a few just a bit dumb. Overall however it is a good book. I havn't been anble to use that many of them for the fact that A) Most people wouldn't understand them without definitions and B) I simply can't remember them. Some of them you wouldn't want to use such as "Brown Betty", which i would explain but i think Ciao might ban me! ...Draw-adled Welsh rappers GLC are the antidote to gangsta “wap”, the Ali Gs of hip hop. Love then or hate them they ARE very funny. Who else could call tracks “Gun’s Don’t Kill People, Rappers Do” and “Your Mother’s Got a Penis” and still get away with slagging off Notorious BIG and Elvis? The band could be a cartoon from Viz! Greatest "Hits" – the drug references start from the title - start with an ode to The A-Team “crack draw specialists”, before long launching into the song which saw them racing round Newport on mobility scooters! Advantages: Very, Very funny
Disadvantages: Repetitive and a tad on the dirty side

...I feel I should start this review by apologising to those who are easily offended and indeed, it may be best for you not to read on but it is a review of Viz so vulgarity is pretty much integral and lets face it : Swearing, its not big, its not clever but it is fucking funny. After all how many inoffensive jokes do you know? (I mean good ones). I don’t know why we find offensive, crude and sick jokes funny, maybe we feel better in ourselves by putting down others, maybe it excites us to be a little naughty but fuck it, we do and I don’t care why, which is why I love Viz. Viz was started in 1979 by a 19 year old lad called Chris Donald with his friends Jim and Simon Brownlow in – no shocks here – the cultural elite that is Newcastle. Advantages: Hilarious Adult Parody of Radio Times.
Disadvantages: Only updated every other week.

...I cannot remember exactly when or where I discovered this site but it was this year I think! This site is pure parodical and satirical humour, in the mould of theonion.com, a very infamous US site! Tvgohome.com is well designed and comes in a neat laid-out format, and very much ‘borrows’ from ‘Radio Times’. A little naughty, but adds to the humour! The site always loads quick and what you’ll see is a one-page layout, in the style of Radio Times, but with a very adult and twisted view! There’s a definite hint of ‘Viz’ style humour in the articles featured, which is cool if you like Viz! In essence it’s a pure p**s take of TV listings magazines, and is designed to make you titter, once a fortnight! You can read and enjoy the past issues of tvgohome, by moving through the archive section. The humour may or may not appeal to you... Read review
