...A club recording first and foremost, Discovery — the long-awaited follow-up to French duo Daft Punk's (aka producer/DJs Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo) 1997 house classic Homework — mixes a formula of analog synths, Vocoder vocals and dancefloor beats with everything from disco and old-school funk to heart-pounding techno. Discovery announces itself with "One More Time," a club hit that makes an incessant hook out of a familiar clubber's call-to-arms ("One more time, we're gonna celebrate ... don't stop the dancing"), establishing the set's dancefloor tone. The house sensibility of party songs such as "Crescendolls," "High Life" and "Face to Face" gives way to '80s funk-pop in "Too Long." ...have no understanding of latitude, longitude, the way of the waters, lunar and solar eclipses etc… The author is hampered on his quest by the fact that the Chinese authorities, who came to power following Zhu Di’s death destroyed almost all the evidence of the great fleet and maps etc they used. I’ve given you merely a flavour here of what is a remarkable story. It’s remarkable in the context of the epic voyage undertaken by the Chinese so long ago. It’s remarkable that adventurers such as Columbus made voyages of discovery using maps copied from original Chinese maps and then claimed to have discovered places, which they obviously did not. It’s remarkable that one man had the tenacity to dig deep enough to bring reason and logic to a 600 year-old mystery. The book is extremely interesting although in parts very difficult to read due... ...This book tells the story of Joanna Gurney long married to a lawyer and mother of two, who usually lives in a quiet town where she runs the Bun In The Oven - a homely teashop. The book begins as she sets out to sea alone on the family's boat after an argument with her husband. Sailing alone on this voyage of discovery she learns about herself, her family and comes to terms with her past. Meanwhile the press get hold of her story and chase 'Yo Ho Jo' around the coast, as does her husband, friends and university lover! Sailing alone is at times dangerous when storms strike but still excilerating. Soon Joanna picks up some more passengers temporarily fleeing normal life. Libby Purves' book is a thoroughly good read - it's easy to get into and although the plot is at times a little far fetched one must be willing to suspend... Read review

The Motorcycle Diaries is the story of a youthfull "Che" Guevera and his journey around South America on a voyage of discovery with his friend Alberto. It begins with us witnesing their family life, the fact that both these individuals have been training in medical fields and want to see their "country". This journey will encompass most of South America which does give scope to let us see magnificent scenery and cinematography. As they travel through their route on "The Mighty One" - an inappropriately named motorbike that they begin the journey on - they meet people on the way that shape... Read review

...for a few years and the time has now come to replace it. My budget is under £20k and I have turned my thoughts towards an MPV. As the new Voyager comes in at the right side of that budget I thought would give it a go. The car I tried was a 2.4 litre petrol engine 7 seater. Now for just £18495 you are getting a lot of car. The external dimensions are big. It is taller wider and longer than the Galaxy types and the 806 types as well as Toyotas Previa. Indeed you would need to go for a Grand Espace to rival its room. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but the Voyager is neat if you like your styling American. It is not softly European but boldly brash and aggressive. When you climb in the driving position is a marvel, I have had a Discovery before and there is a similar commanding air about sitting high up. It can also help driving as you can... Read review
