Advantages: good bonding
Disadvantages: I hate wallpapering.

...that is spilt onto your skin. There is a ready mixed tub available but I do not really see the need for that, as solvite is easy to mix. The tub costs 5.58 for a tub to do 5 rolls for a bigger tub to do 10 rolls its £9.98. Solvite also make a pink wallpaper paste goes on pink so you can see where you put it and dries clear. I have not used this so I have no knowledge of its performance. This pink paste costs £3.98p for sticking 12 rolls. Solvite also make pastes for sticking borders these are available in ready made form, in a small tube or in a larger pot these have a brush included in the tube/tub so looks easy when you just need a little. Costs £3.78 for a small tube or£10.48 for a large tub. Wallpapering is not a job I enjoy doing I must admit that usually I just give minimum of help to dearly beloved he does not like this job much either... Read review

...I have lived in France for a long time now, and have done many wallpapering jobs, and was disappointed with the pastes that are available. Now, I keep a stock of Solvite because I know that it does what it is supposed to do, and in damp houses such as we have in Brittany, this is a superior glue that inhibits mould, and one that is simple to use. Many people make the mistake of not reading instructions for mixing and end up with a lumpy consistency. You know, mixing wallpaper paste is very simple. Measure the water, stir it til it is going around in circles, and then add the paste flakes, little by little, constantly stirring. It works every time with no lumps and a good consistency. Solvite comes in a 15 roll sachet for £3.98 and as the majority of rooms are less than 15 rolls, this is a super economic way of buying paste as opposed... Read review

...I had owned other dogs before from puppies, but nothing could prepare me for owning a Border Collie. "Buffy" was bought for me last October as an early Christmas present from my sister. I went to pick her up from the Pennines and she was a beautiful little red merle at 10 weeks old (she is now 9 months old). We drove her all the way back and bought her into the house. She was so shy that she hid under the table for the whole of the night. How sweet I thought, but little did I know. THE BASICS Border Collies have an inbred tendency to work. If you do not keep them stimulated they will very quickly become bored and start to chew. You may even see your Border Collie chasing shadows on the walls!! ...The plan was a simple one and the work required would probably take up two days of my weekend to fully decorate my son’s bedroom. This involved removing a paper border from the middle of three of the walls and painting over the existing paper, which was in good condition. The reality was rather different and has involved the removal from four walls, three layers of borders and two layers of paper each having had at least two colours of paint on them. This prompted the need for a steam wallpaper stripper and the Ealex has fitted the bill perfectly. In my local Homebase this was the mid priced product weighing in at £28. Advantages: will remove most stubborn and ancient wallpapers, timesaver, effective, less exhausting than traditional wallpaper stripping
Disadvantages: can scald, steam builds up in the room, wallpaper shreds can become slippy underfoot

...I agree that steam wallpaper strippers are a virtual godsend. Stubborn paper is always difficult to remove, but even the most hardened spot(s) of wallpaper can be removed witha fraction of the effort used than if using standard wet sponge and scraper. I used a national DIY chain's own brand of wallpaper stripper, costing approx. £25. A worthy investment, as I have stripped entire hallways of wallpaper in a weekend. There are disadvantages of course, noticeably the discarded wallpaper shreds, which can stick under the feet and to the floor, and generally make the place untidy. I would advise ladder users to wear sensible footwear and keep the ladders as far from the wall as possible. If stripping wallpaper from the ceiling, ensure the steam plate is not held overhead, but rather to one side. This will prevent scalds from steamdrops... Read review

...playing is of the highest standard so I was intrigued to find out if Evanescence were a one hit wonder or actually had some musical talent, unlike many artists nowadays. It wasn't until a particular Saturday in the middle of June that I realised my love for them. I was stripping a wallpaper border off of my brother's mates wall and she was playing "Fallen" through her gigantic stereo system (Hi Donna!)and never have I done such a good decorating job. I know what your thinking though, this is just another cheap American band that sung a few songs and suddenly became famous. Well I can tell you that they first started in 1998 after there guitarist (Ben Moody) heard Amy Lee (the pianist and lead singer) playing at, wait for it, church camp. ...The title says it all really. I'm not artistic AT ALL, and, having had no sucessful experience at all of DIY work, am a little bit nervous of paints, brushes, rollers and the like. But my husband and I have been living on borrowed time since we bought what must be the most beige house in the world 18 months ago. EVERY room is like a shrine to the shade magnolia, and to be honest it was getting me down.
