Reviews of wedges
Great wedge for inconsistent players!
Review of Cleveland CG11 Black Pearl Wedges by
comedybegs
Advantages: easy to hit from any distance and looks stunning
Disadvantages: amount of bounce on some options makes the club less versataile
...This is a fantastic wedge, suitable for any skill level of player especially for the more inconsistent of us due to the positioning of the weight in the club head. This wedge is especially good in my eyes due to its anti glare 'black pearl' finish which looks great and doesn't rust. The design of the sole of the club makes it harder to hit 'fat' as the bounce stops the club from digging in and allows more better mishits that the average wedge. I also got great feel and a lot of spin with this wedge, especially from sand adn deep rough!!!
The standard shaft and grip come with the quality you would expect from a Cleveland wedge and match the well designed clubhead that sits very well behind the ball.
A problem i did have with my version of this wedge is that although a lot of bounce made it easier to get out of bunkers and long grass...

Let your Tongue Tingle on my Wedges
Review of McCain Wedges with sea salt and cracked black pepper by
Lizard_Lover
Advantages: Delicious flavour of salt and black pepper
Disadvantages: None
...Frozen potato wedges seem to have monopolised the market that used to be the domain of the frozen chip. Maybe it is because wedges can only be oven baked or grilled, and the consumer then feels that eating wedges is a healthier option. Whatever the reason, there seems to be a huge variety of wedge type products on the supermarket shelves at present.
Wedges are large wedge shaped slices of potato, cut much thicker than a normal chip. Some wedge products are presented with the skin of the potato left on, but McCain see fit to peel their potato products before preparing this new addition to their range of savoury wedges.
McCain have been producing various produce for over 80 years and for every three frozen potato based products purchased in the United Kingdom, McCain will have manufactured one. From these figures, it is easy...

Chips with filling!
Review of McCain Wedges by
Plymyphil
Advantages: Tasty, filling, pleasant texture
Disadvantages: None to note
...McCain have been really significant players in the frozen chip market for some time now. I remember McCain chips from 20 years ago and they were market leaders then. Their chips are market leaders too and they seem to have perfected the art of maintaining the flavour and texture of the chips whilst not allowing the dreaded oven sog.
McCain's wedges go that step further. Wedges for those not in the know are thicker than chips and follow the shape of the potato. They are literally, wedges cut out of the potato. As such, they are far more filling than chips. McCain have taken their years of know how from making frozen chips and applied it to this relatively new 'wedges' market. The result is a tasy and filling alternative to chips.
Personally I still like chips were they belong next to a steak but with most other meal that could have had...

McCain Wedges from the ocean!?
Review of McCain Wedges with sea salt and cracked black pepper by
garry_rhondle
Advantages: Chunky, tasty, bad for you!
Disadvantages: flavour not very obvious
...Good old McCain, they do good chips and things!! that is, unless you happen to find a hand grenade hiding in you packet?!!?! (http://uk.news.yahoo.com/22052006/80-132/workers-flee-explosive-chips.html)
The wedges can be found in all supermarkets (and Iceland!) and are usually priced at about £1 - I got mine from ASDA for £1.
The wedges come in a red packet with pictures of fat wedges on the front - the packaging is ok, nothing special.
You get quite a reasonable amount in the packet - probably about 20 - 30 wedges, enough for 4 or 5 meals for one person.
The packet is 750g and its nutritional info is (per 100g)
Energy KJ - 613cal
Protein - 2.3g
Available Carbohydrate - 23.8g
Fat - 5.6g
The wedges can be cooked in either the oven (18mins at 220deg C) or grill at medium heat for only 14 mins - this is the way I do it, much quicker...
