Western Digital Scorpio 250 GB 2.5-inch Hard-Drive
Review of Western Digital Scorpio WD2500BEVE 250 GB by
Acidcub3
Advantages: 250GB Lots of memory, Low power consumption, Cheap
Disadvantages: 2.5-inch limits it to USUALLY Laptops but can be used in desktop computers
...Fairly decent hard-drive.
Western Digital are a well trusted company, especially for computer equipment. 250GB is a massive storage device, you could store ALOT and with low power consumption makes it even better. Looking at the prices too this is a real bargin! I really recommend this hard-drive, the real-time data protection will help if your computer ever shuts off. It is also a 2.5-inch hard-drive which usually associates with laptops, however there are some desktop computers which could use this. If you did want to buy this for a desktop computer but your computer could only use 3.5-inch then you could buy an external hard-drive shell which could plug straight into your computer OR laptop through USB or Firewire. Overall I think this is a very nice hard-drive and a good bargin at the price it's avaliable for....

Its a dirty job but someones got to do it
Review of Dirty Harry (Box Set) by
harj123
Advantages: tense, exciting well acted cop thriller
Disadvantages: might be too violent for some viewers
....However Scorpio is one step ahead and will leave Harry battered, bruised and pushed to the absolute limit.
The part of Harry was originally offered to western legend John Wayne. He however Turned the role down distrubed by the story and violence.Frank Sinatra was next in line but had to drop out due to a hand injury.Siegel whose most successful film at the time had been [invasion of the body snatchers] then passed the role over to Clint eastwood. He had become an international star with Sergio leones "Spaghetti" westerns and also worked before with siegel on the excellent Coogans bluff{1968}.In that film he played a arizona sherrif tracking a prisoner who has escaped to new york.Eastwoods cool laconic performance worked well with siegels efficent crisp direction. The style was maintained for dirty harry but with a rougher harder edge. The film has a cat...

Ask Yourself Do I Feel Lucky Well Do Ya Punk
Review of Dirty Harry Collection (Box Set) by
polydeuces
Advantages: A well directed film, well acted and full of action
Disadvantages: Is it moral or amoral
...Having established himself as a huge box office name in the spaghetti westerns starting with A Fistful Of Dollars Clint Eastwood moved seamlessly into police thrillers as Detective Harry Callaghan. The first film in the series was Dirty Harry which established the character and created a market into which Magnum Force, The Enforcer and Sudden Impact was fed.
The film was set around the pursuit and ultimate capture of a crazed Sniper called Scorpio played with suitable wild-eyed madness by Andy Robinson. As we see Callaghan pursue him we see Callaghans personality develop as almost as pathologically criminal as those he pursues. The difference being he is on the side of law and order. Callaghan inevitably incurs the wrath of his superiors but sets for all time the classic but-he-gets-results versus go-by-the-book dilemma.
Callaghan...

Best Dirty Harry Movie
Review of Dirty Harry (Box Set) by
glwgardner
Advantages: 5.1 Mix
Disadvantages: Poor DVD extras
...It`s nice to see some of these old 70s classics getting an airing on DVD. Dirty Harry is the first in a series of films featuring the eponymous hero, a cop who takes on roles of judge, jury and executioner with any scumbag who is stupid enough to go ahead and make his day. Tracking down the psychopathic Scorpio, Harry doesn`t let little things like police procedures get in his way: his determination to pursue his own notion of justice regardless made him a kind of folk hero - a disturbingly fascistic kind of hero, but then this is America we are talking about. Eastwood is superb as Harry Callahan, still carrying with him something of his Man with No Name persona from the great Sergio Leone westerns. Don Siegel directs with panache, and we get a nice 5.1 remix here. Picture is as good as you could expect given the film`s age. All we need...

250GB Beast!
Review of Western Digital Scorpio WD2500BEVE 250 GB by
buckyohare
Advantages: 250GB of internal memory!! At a reasonable price, too!
Disadvantages: No major disadvantages. Not as quiet as I believed it would be.
...I purchased this drive as an upgrade of my Acer Aspire laptop's 60GB 2.5" internal hard drive, and so far I have been delighted with it!
The reason I chose this drive in particular, was due to the fact that it is an ATA drive (not SATA). ATA is the older drive technology, and as my Acer laptop is a few years old, it unfortunately does not support the more recent (and higher capacity) SATA internal drives. SATA drives are far more widespread now and are a bit easier and cheaper to find than the older ATA drives, but if you have an older laptop model, you will probably have to buy an ATA drive such as this one.
After searching high and low, this 250GB drive from Western Digital was the highest capacity ATA internal drive I could find at a reasonable price, and so far it has not let me down!
It took a bit of effort to clone my original...

Review of Dell Latitude D600 - Pentium M 1.3 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
waiho
Advantages: Light and Reliable
Disadvantages: keyboard
...I have been using DELL laptop since I start working 5 years back. My first Laptop was inpiron 2500, No Problem at all. After all, I have decided to change to Dell D600 with high end spec.40GB hitachi HD, 1024 Sdramm, DVD/CD-RW. Been using this laptop for a year untill now. The onle problem I have is the Hard Drive. I have change 2 replacement for Hitachi Hard drive. I got fed up, I dicided not to get hitachi anymore. I have move my decision to Western Digital- scorpio 80GB, which I think more reliable, than hitachi. Beside than the Hard disk Issue. Everything incluede the system board and software Issue were all Satisfied. Due to my heavy work load and program, DELL D600 still giving me a best performance than rest. More stable and reliable.
The Only best of this laptop is Build-up everything which you need or dont need it. Etc...

Classic Eastwood Movie that Made My Day
Review of Dirty Harry (Box Set) by
dreamstar70
Advantages: good role for Eastwood & direction from Don Seigal, thought provoking, good action
Disadvantages: violence slightly stylised, poor picture/sound quality, feels dated
...in the 70s such Correctness was exactly the kind of thing Callaghan was fighting against along with creaking police procedures of arrest.
Not only does he find it hard enough keeping tracks on Scorpio as he causes mayhem in the streets of SF, but he also has to battle the law & order system. Is it any wonder he steps out of line when justice seems to support the alleged criminal rather than protecting the innocents...sounds so familiar these days.
Eastwood really got his foot in the Stardom threshold with this movie. Somehow I don't think an ageing John Wayne or Frank Sinatra (the original choice) would have had the same kind of steely glare as Eastwood, especially during the final standoff with Scorpio and Harry recites his infamous "Punk" line. Nobody has a tighter jawline than Eastwood at times like this.
Eastwood expands on his previous...

Where Have All The Scorpios Gone
Review of Ford Granada Scorpio by
polydeuces
Advantages: Comfortable car, roomy, good perforamnce and handling
Disadvantages: Looks and image
...I would have love to have been there when the first Ford Scorpios were produced. The assembled mass of workers must have felt their jaws drop when they looked at it. Not at the beauty but at the ugliness of it. Was there no-one who, like in the Emperor’s New Clothes, said there is something not quite right here. The problem was not one of nudity but the clothes the Scorpio came in.
There it must have stood bug-eyed, a huge fat backside, a mass of unrelieved contourless metal with oversize featureless bumpers. That the Scorpio failed to sell in the huge numbers of the Granada it replaced was no surprise. That Ford subsequently gave up building large cars to concentrate on owning jaguar and more recently Volvo was more surprising but it speaks volumes that Ford should have become so tarnished in the executive motor sector after...
